Could be better
Room was fine but general decor of Hotel was a little tired, it seemed in need of a refurbishment.
I felt charging £8.00 to park your car as a resident was outrageous.

A truly ghastly experience of a run down thread bare hotel !
Oh my truly a ghastly hotel , the Queens room had thread bare carpet , an iron hanging off the wall , a worn out bed , a duvet with holes , noisey , even holes in the wall , .... clearly no money had been spent for 30 years ... We moved room , 203 , just the same ... Though no hanging iron .... It defies belief that any one could possibly find this hotel acceptable .... Ever

Regrettable
It is a pleasing looking building in a convenient part of Cambridge. However the noise of the traffic and the off putting decor and outdated stylings that just didn't go with the beautiful architecture of the building let it down immediatly, real shame. Stayed in travelodge the following evening was far more value for money and a more enjoyable stay, even cheaper. This was not value for money and became a regrettable stay.

the staff were very friendly and helpful and could not be faulted.
The staff were great but the hotel is tired and in plain need of refurbishment; old furniture, patched up items ( e.g. one of the floor keys in the lift), etc. It's a lovely building in a super location and ncould again be a brilliant hotel if investment in the fabric of the building match the standard of the staff and food.

Hot and tired
Both externally and internally, the hotel gives the impression of having seen better days. When we arrived, the room was very hot and remained unpleasantly so throughout the night. The presence of a , fairly useless, fan with attendant instructions in the room implies that this is a common problem. Reception staff were very friendly and efficient; the breakfast staff seemed more concerned with clearing used plates than in welcoming or guiding guests. That said, the food was reasonable and the coffee drinkable!

Fawlty Towers In Cambridge
A sad and tired hotel. We had a third floor room and the plumbing was non existent - shower dribbled and toilet would not flush and the camping type system pumped intermittently all night. The clothes cupboard was falling apart and to use the kettle meant putting the kettle on the floor. The lift did not go to the third floor and there were paper stickers glued to the switches for floor numbers. Breakfast was indifferent as were the serving staff. All in all poor value for money
