So close but yet so far
Fantastically placed if you're going to Kassam, but a pain in the rear getting to and from Oxford. A shuttle bus would be a welcome provision.
Breakfast was a severe let down, but it's an Express so one can't expect much more than the bare necessities.
The room itself was very comfortable, and very welcome after a day of travel. Bathroom facilities were fantastic (and the coathangers fit perfectly in the shower rail, allowing for a bit of steam-ironing...)
On that note, lack of ironing facilities in rooms was a loss, but not a major one.
The real kick in the teeth was paying for wifi that is pointless. Not only is the idea of paying for hotel wifi archaic at best, exploitative at most, but as soon as a the evening rush kicked in, wifi speeds dropped to such that it became unusable and I resorted to balancing my phone on a window ledge and tethering (yeah, reception is terrible here too... but that's not their fault)

Good quality at affordable price
Booked the room fairly late for an unexpected visit to Oxford. Very affordable, clean, with a spare bed for a teenager.

Poor breakfast, not suitable for hosting young children. Roll over bed is awful, not comfortable at all.

Recent Stay End December 2012
The room was clean & tidy with the staff being exceptionally helpful. The breakfast whilst basic was satisfactory.
My only one issue is you need to pay for Wi-Fi. £6.00 per hour or £9.00 for 24 hours. When I normally stay at Holiday Inn’s Wi-Fi is chargeable via your room but free if utilised within reception area.
This is the only area in my opinion needs to be reviewed by the management

Stayed for business
I don't make my bookings, we have an administrator that does this for us but the hotel was as expected. Fairly simple, but clean, good continental breakfast and friendly staff.
A few restaurants nearby on the other side of the stadium, which is RIGHT next to the hotel. For people not staying to go to the stadium this may prove a bit annoying as the match noise was quite loud, but I was only there one night so it was acceptable.

Good for everything except location and some receptionist
Room is overall very good esp. it's very clean and spacious than expected. Breakfast is also good to be full and nice. Only one comment might be the location which is a bit far from the city centre. It might take about 45 mins by a public bus. But it is also perfect if you want to watch a football match at Kassam Stadium which is very next to the hotel. Customer service overall is good and service-minded except only one as I knew, didn't impress us much at the first coming.

WE MUST BE GETTING OLD
Very efficient check-in, staff waiting with check in forms already completed. Given 2 door passes, so that one could be left in room, and then heating stays on while you are out. Made it lovely and homely when we returned.Took a little time to realsie that we had been allocated a disabled room!! We are both able bodied, but could still appreciate the additional facilities in place to assist less fortunate guests. Wet area in the bathroom, telephone by the toilet, alarm cords in bathroom and by the bed. We also noticed a second (lower) spyhole in the entry door. Nice touches we thought, and right opposite the lift to make life easier.
