do not have room 115
the room was ok TV didn't work even after an engineer turned up & twisted the aerial about then finally wedging it behind the TV we could only get 11 channels.
The room was very dated & tired, the shower was a waste of time nothing more than a quick dribble !!!. with the temperature fluctuating all the time. The hotel Bar food was well below average, thought my sausages were wrapped in a rubber glove . The cost of the room was very over priced for what it was,
On the bright side the staff were very good & made the stay half worth it.
Great last minute booking happy with my choice
We had a great stay.
Not noisy at night which is usually a problem and fabulous customer service. Only problem we had was the bed being too hard for my partner. I didn't realise they had leisure facilities because my booking was rushed,(my fault) so swimwear next visit . Well done.
Good and clean
Wouldn't stay again
After booking a room I called hotel to confirm it has a bath and was told it did, also asked for sea view room and again told it was not a problem as I said for £10 more I could have it at a nearby hotel.
On arrival, we have no bath, no sea view, the room smelt damp and had mould round parts of the room. When I complained I was told they would move me to another room the following day (meaning 50% of my stay was not what I wanted or what I was paying for) we had to stay in that room for the night, bed was extremely hard, noisy generators outside, tv didn't work. In morning partner had a shower and water wouldn't drain away, called reception who sent maintenance up I explained what problem was and said that a plunger should do it, 5mins later maintenance returned and handed me the plunger and then walked off!. I then had to go and unblock the drain so water could drain away so my partner could finish showering and I could shower. Moved to second room for our second and last night, great seaview, much better bed, tv worked and it had a bath.. Only issue was that when we went to have a bath we had to run the taps for about 10mins as at first the water came out yellow sort of colour!.
In the bar I went down to get drinks to take to my room, asked for a certain brand of drink and was served a different brand, when I questioned it was told it wouldn't be charged for and was sorry for mistake, realised later that we have been charged for them and hotel won't refund it (only £11) for two pints of cider and black. Great staff great looking hotel from outside but I won't be staying there ever again, I have stayed in cheaper much better hotels on the same road as this one.
Suncliff Hotel Bournemouth
Staff was very helpful and directed to another hotel where we could swim as they had heating problems.our room was snug, but was nice and warm, we even got a side sea view that was a bonus.
Breakfast wasn't the best but ok, i would stay there again
unclean, extremly outdated ,turn curtains & chair fabric extremly worn matresses
we turned down 3 different rooms all extremely out dated & of a poor standard the 1st room was absolutely unbelievable for damage, worn curtains & the bathroom!!!.
the other 2 rooms were a little better but no where near a standard that should be offered, with mattresses that that were extremely well worn and broken, food tray were left out side of rooms & dirty laundry.
We refused to stay & left with a full refund
Details, details, perfectly comfortable but austerity feel ruined the luxuries
Perfectly comfortable and enjoyable stay.
Beds fine and breakfast was great. Car park was full on first night because there was a wedding, tip: plenty of cheap parking on the street (Manor Rd) if you turn away from the beach (free at weekend). Spa super too - clearly built in the 80s but nothing tatty about it beyond the non-functioning lockers which could so easily be fixed... Therein lie the problems. Nothing major wrong with the place but it could be so much better with a little attention to detail. Carpet in the rooms felt quite rancid and needed replaced; ruining an otherwise spotless room with all the expected facilities. Tiny soapbar (no soapdish in the shower) and mayonnaise sachet-sized shower gel didn't cut the mustard in a spa hotel next to the beach (luckily we brought extra shower gel). Tiny towel rack just about did two of us staying in a family room (but wouldn't do a family). The bathroom door had a gap you could get your hand through - flimsy furniture too could so easily be changed. Finally - what's up with the pool table. It's in a corridor so tight there's no room to swing the cue down one side. Put it in the corner of one of the bars and turn it into a serving table during functions - there's plenty of room...
The Suncliff Hotel
Booked two nights stay - left after one night.
I was charged £75 for a single room on Saturday night and £40 for Sunday night.
In my opinion, judging by the state and size of the room, I was massively over charged for the Saturday night. I expected something better after reading reviews on trip advisor. The room was tiny and so narrow that I could sit on the bed and put my hand out and touch the facing wall. The wardrobe was squeezed in between the bed and the wall. Once I'd brought in my over night bag, there was barely any room to stand by the bed. The sheets looked clean but there was a dirty, dusty red cushion on the bed. This just needs to go in the bin. The wardrobe was broken and had no door. Maybe because there would be no room to open it. The windows and window sills were filthy. The window blind was broken and covered in dust and dirt. The kettle was so stained inside I was put off using it. The shower was grim. The tv volume went from inaudible to very loud and the walls are so thin. I could hear the conversation in the next room, hence turned the tv on. The basin was so small water splashed everywhere when you turned the taps on and there wasn't a bath mat. There was no toilet paper in the room. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows flat. It felt like being in a prison cell. There was a lingering musty smell in the room and corridors. The whole place felt dirty and grimy. Overall the most depressing room I have ever have the misfortune to stay in. I just couldn't face staying there for second night. The location is good on the sea front and staff are very friendly but standards needs to be greatly improved to charge these kind of rates.
