Excellent Break

We booked on Night ie Friday as our football team was playing Peterborugh United on Saturday.

We intended to return home on Saturday after the match. The Staff on reception were efficient and welcoming. The Staff in the Restaurant and Breakfast Room were very pleasant and efficient. The food was good in the restaurant and the food served in the bar. Our room and the public rooms were spotless. It was so good we decided to stay another night. Our room was booked but they found us another one on the same corridor as the first one.

Great value

Got to the hotel at 5, got a parking space, reception was quick and efficient, single room, so it was compact, but everything I needed to get set for a night out with colleagues.

Sound night's sleep, really good shower, excellent breakfast, with very friendly staff, and all this for a fraction of the cost of some of the hotels I've stayed in. One of my colleagues was staying in a large chain hotel in P'boro for the same bash, and spent more for a far less satisfying stay.

Lovely two night stay

Excellent room, nice bar.

We were a couple who only needed use of the room as we spent much of the day out. The room was perfect to relax and wind down in the evening. My only complaint was the noisy elephants who were staying upstairs. The floorboards creaked from the room above and was a little annoying not what you want early in the morning...

Overnight at queensgate Peterborough.

Overall excellent experience .

Particularly impressed by staff ,they were so polite and friendly . Also in spite of there being a big Christmas party taking place that night ,in our room we never heard a thing . The only criticism was that on booking in we asked to book table for evening meal in the restaurant .. we were told we could only eat at 6 30 because of Xmas party there that night . We agreed and booked table ,.when we got to table at 6 30 we asked for menu only to be told we could only have the set Xmas dinner because of the party that was booked . This should have been made clear when we booked the meal and we could have made other arrangements . Also ,again because of the party ,our service was very slow .... it would probably have been better to say the restaurant was closed that evening . The food however was excellent ,,,as was breakfast next morning .

A perfectly pleasant place to stay

A pleasant hotel near to the centre of Peterborough, very convenient for the football stadium which is next door.

Adequate parking. Getting to the room was ok although due to the nature of the hotel it is a bit of a labyrinth of corridors and fire doors to negotiate.

Good value in an expensive city

Three of us travelled to Peterborough for a weekend of non-league football.

The hotel was chosen because it was on the right side of the city and because of its proximity to The Coal Heavers Arms, a fine pub that is an outlet for the Milton Brewery in Cambridge. The hotel ticked all the boxes three middle aged males needed i.e. plenty of car parking, clean rooms, decent beds, showers that worked and a good breakfast. The staff were uniformly excellent in that they were helpful and friendly. The decor is a little faded (like the three of us) but it is a hotel for sleeping in, not lounging around in. Had we wanted that, we would have paid three times as much elsewhere. Good value in an expensive city.

Queensgate Hotel

The hotel was just what I wanted for a one-night stay to visit Peterborough Cathedral.
