Reviews - Radisson Blu Edwardian, Vanderbilt

4Visit England Assessed Hotel Ratings explained
76 Cromwell Road , London, SW7 5BT
An imposing Georgian mansion in fashionable South Kensington, the four star Vanderbilt Hotel stays faithful to its past but espouses modern comfort in a classic London cityscape of porticos and leafy squares. Moments from London’s world-class museums, step into the frescoed lobby and take in a characterful ambience of open fireplaces, deep sofas for laid-back lounging and quietly stylish rooms. The 215 rooms have a warm classic English ambiance and feature rich decor and marble-clad bathrooms. Larger deluxe rooms include upgraded amenities, such as extra work space and seating area. Access to bedroom floors is by room key only.

Located in fashionable South Kensington, perfect for the great museums, Chelsea, Knightsbridge and Hyde Park, Scoff & Banter Kensington is set in the beautiful old Vanderbilt family mansion, offering British classics served straight up or with a twist.
Enjoy a cocktail in the bar with its wooden, chequered flooring and eclectic mix of furniture, before heading into the light and airy restaurant with its unusual objects d'art and exposed, industrial features. The newly refurbished restaurant merges traditional and modern features.

Been in better 2* Motels
The hotel itself is very beautiful, but our upgraded ("bigger") room was small. The bathroom was tiny, the wash basin was behind the door making it awkward to get to. The wi-fi was slooooww. The internet TV didn't work. There was no EPG on the TV and only basic Freeview channels which took ages to flick through.

Great location, friendly staff, small room
Well located for the underground, with many cafe's restaurants and bars nearby. There is also a Waitrose and a Tesco very close to the hotel. It is in walking distance to Harrods. Hyde Park and the natural history museum are also nearby.
The room was very small and could have had many little things improved which added up over the length of our stay. The bed and pillows were not comfy, there was a lot of noise in the corridor and the TV only had 5 channels.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Good location, great staff, nice cocktails, bit of a labyrinth
Very nice hotel, handy for the museums and South Kensington.
Great cocktail lounge, superior singles have good beds but small bathrooms, fine for a couple of nights. All the staff were very helpful.
Good transport connections with a bus stop opposite and tube within 2 minutes walk.
Recommended.

The only problem we had was that the bed sheets had tiny spots on them which I asume was dried blood. They were washed and clean but I wouldn't have used them at home. I didn't complain because was only 1 night and not the complaining type.

Great Hotel, Great staff and great location
As I said above, hotel was great. Staff could not do enough for you. Bar is great, and location of hotel is spot on. Underground is about 2 minutes walk.

Hot room, antique sheets
Room 332. Poor for Radisson. Bottom sheet was threadbare like an old B&B sheet. Air conditioning worked but did not adjust temperature in the baking hot room. Only one tiny window opened.

OverBooked
Despite having booked in August they told us the hotel was overbooked and offered to sent us to a different hotel across town!
There was over a 10 minute wait for the eggs, sausage and bacon to be replenished at breakfast and we had to ask 3 different people for toast and coffee - this was not just before they closed.

Excellent Hotel
We stayed here for 1 night with out 2 boys aged 9 and 11. The hotel was excellent, great looking inside and immaculately clean. The room was perfect a Huge and very comfortable. The boys also had a large double sofa bed. The bathroom was immaculate with a great bath and shower. The staff were also very good. Especially their interaction with the boys. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone and will definitely stay here again.
