4Self Classified Inn Ratings explained
27 HENLEY ROAD , WALLINGFORD, OX10 7EL
...................WIFI broadband connection available throughout the building..................
Welcome to the Kingfisher Inn, we are a family owned and operated hotel at the head of the old wharf road in the small village of Shillingford by the River Thames near Wallingford.

If you are here on business the following are near by :-
Oxford Science Park and Milton Business Park, UKAE at Culham, Diamond Light at Harwell, Enviroment Agency, British Geological Survey, Wallingford Software & HR Wallingford at Howberry Park, South Oxfordshire District Council at Crowmarsh, Fugro Hithercroft Wallingford or Monument Business Park Chalgrove.

For tourists we are ideally located for visiting the city of Oxford (famed for its universities), Blenheim Palace (birthplace of Churchill), Henley Regatta or maybe Garsington Opera, all are only a short drive or bus journey from us.
For those having a special treat The Manoir Aux Quat Saisons is only a short drive / taxi away. If you like to walk we have the Thames Footpath directly outside our entrance with a superb six-mile loop along the riverbank and through a woodland nature reserve.
The facilities here are of excellent standard, all are guests rooms are en-suite with bath/showeroom. The Bar & Restaurant area is a mix of old and new, with open wood burning stove for winter and ceramic floor for cooling the summer. The atmosphere here is relaxed and informal with a strong emphasis on good homcooked food all being prepared in our kitchen, The separate breakfast room was originally the old stables, it has whitewashed walls and ceramic tiles, creating a light and fresh room well suited to start the day.
We hope this gives you an idea of what we have to offer, if you wish to have further information please visit our website.
We look forward to meeting you.

Excellent hotel
One of the best places I've stayed in for a long time, the room was spotless and very comfortable, shower was really powerful, owners were attentive and friendly, food was amazing.
Can't recommend highly enough, faultless from start to finish, these people are 100% doing it right.

Unwelcoming
The Kingfisher gives the impression that it is trying to be more than it really is which makes it not very welcoming, although there is nothing actually wrong with it, it 's fine for one nights stay.

Quaint but basic
Great location, lovely pub, very friendly team, the room was very basic though - maybe it is intentional to fit in with the rustic pub, but sitting on a hard chair, at a tiny table in a sparse room to work in the evening wasn't what I was hoping for.
The room was small, but perfectly suitable for sleeping in. The TV was a tiny old thing, with hardly any channels, but with it being in the middle of no where there wasn't much else to do.
I ate in the restuarant which I have to say was lovely despite its very limited menu - forced me to try stuff I'd normally avoid, but was very tasty and prepared fresh. I'd stay again, but I'd bring a movie with me to watch on my laptop.
