A comfortable weekend
We stayed for two nights while visiting friends and relatives. Our standard room was clean and comfortable. Plenty of space, hairdryer and ironing equipment in the room, basic tea and coffee facilities. Good value for money. The staff were pleasant and friendly but left us in peace which suited us perfectly.

Fantastic, comfortable and friendly
My husband and I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn. We stopped on a Saturday evening as we were attending a concert in the town centre. We arrived in the afternoon. There was ample parking available. We found the staff very friendly and inviting. We stayed in one of the executive suites. The suite was very clean, modern and spacious. The bathroom was lovely. Our bed was so comfortable and big!! The only negative throughout our stay was being woken up by doors closing as people entered their rooms. My husband slept through it! We left our car and got a taxi into the centre, costing less than £5. When we arrived back from the concert we had a couple of drinks in the bar. We met some friendly people. There is a shopping complex just down the road within walking distance and two pubs if one wanted to go out for a drink or a pub meal. We had a breakfast in the morning (included In the price we paid). The choice of breakfast was plentiful. There was a cooked breakfast, continental, fruit, yoghurts, fruit juice, toast, croissants and cereals. The staff brought us tea or coffee to our table and offered a re-fill. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would recommend.

Enjoyable stay
We stayed for a night and were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Its within walking distance into town (or a quick five min taxi ride). Its opposite a Sainsburys and petrol station. Staff at reception were very pleasant and friendly- gave us some good recommendations of where to go out in town. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean (ground floor).
I would definitely stay here again.

Fitted the bill....
Used this hotel as it was close to a business meeting we had in the city the next morning. Very comfortable, clean and polite and helpful staff.....
Only downside was the disappointing evening meal, and the very poor wireless reception which left me without a signal for most of my stay....they did take this off the bill without any hesitation so fair play to them for that....

Great location
Great location with just a short walk past the Castle to the city centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And the best breakfast I've eaten at a hotel for a long time!
