All great up until the 3am fire alarm.
The pack lunch in lieu of breakfast (I had an early start) was fantastic.
Great stay but beware the church bells!
My late check-in (11 pm) did cause the hotel a problem but we managed to sort that out before we arrived, My room was clean with a wonderfully comfortable bed so much so I had to sneak a look at the mattress maker.
Very friendly staff and a nice breakfast. All at a very reasonable price, The downside of my stay was the church clock opposite that seemed to chime the hour all through the night. Ear plugs a must and on that basis I would recommend!
Welcoming and friendly staff throughout our stay.
Had a lovely meal in the restaurant, where they were happy to meet our requests. Breakfast was good and there was plenty of it. Room was comfy and appealingly wonky. Love these traditional features. Set in a pretty village and yes it is close to the church (as in most villages) - the peal of bells on Sunday morning was wonderful.
For the money, this is a very good place to stay.
Obviously if you want luxury go somewhere else, but you will have to pay much more. The George was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed. I was made to feel welcome, there was easy parking, and I would definitely go there again if in the area.
The George Inn - would definitely come back
Amazing venue & location, great friendly staff and locals.
Landlord Gary gets a special mention for hosting.
The bells the bells
We enjoyed our stay here, good food, comfortable accommodation, friendly staff.
Set in a pretty village with gardens & parking at the rear & good beer from the local brewery. The food was excellent in the evening, lovely breakfast too, tasty eggs & bacon etc (great cooked tomatoes) We had room 5 at the front of the building which was a little noisy at times, mad tractor driver after midnight going up & down, and of course the church bells. They chime the hours and also play a two minute peal on the hour. This stops between midnight and four a.m. so if you're a light sleeper ask for a rear room or wake up with the birds. A good place to stay to explore the local countryside.
Lovely accommodation with very friendly staff in lovely setting
We stayed one night with friends and were very impressed with the standard of accommodation and the excellent customer service.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent.
Adequate room although on the small side, but you only sleep in it anyway, shower needs looking at one minute scalding then freezing cold, people friendly and accommodating.
Typical village pub.
Okay for the money.
lovely overnight stay
We were only there for one night but it is somewhere we would go back to.
The staff were verry friendly and the food was excellent the propierter was lovely she explained that our room was over the bar so could be a noise from below which after all it was a pub we aprciated tht IT didn't bother us too much as it was only one night. I must just say the valentines meal was beautiful and all the little touches to the tables and restaraunt really nice. Thank you
