Beautiful Shipton Grange House
What a pleasure to stay in a house of history and charm, looked after by the lovely owner Anne, an avid breeder and owner of whippets.
Many pictures of her pets around the house. Beautiful courtyard garden with swaying masses of softly coloured plants, the perfect English garden scene. It is a little tricky to find the property in the village as you enter through a gate in a blank faced wall. T he house, originally part of Shipton Grange, is only visible once through the narrow gated entrance where carriages would have entered in the past.
Perhaps some additional notes about it being located immediately opposite the entrance to the Cricket Club would help to locate it. The vehicular entrance through the gates is pretty narrow by todays standards, the walls bearing signs of scrapes. An idea of the width would help for those with bigger vehicles. Once inside there is ample space to manoeuvre and park up. A lovely stay with a delightful hostess. The village is charming and there is a good choice of places to eat, all just a stroll away.
Convenient for Blenheim Palace
We had a very pleasant one night stay at Shipton Grange House which is a charming building set in a lovely walled garden.
It is furnished with old furniture and antiques. Anne is a great host and supplied us with a lovely breakfast which we ate at a communal table with the other guests. We found it ideally situated for our visit to Blenheim Palace being only about 14 miles away. .
Historic and quaint
Our room was lovely and bed was comfortable.
Our bathroom was located further down the corridor and was for our own exclusive use. There was a shower attachment on bath, but it was not a stand up shower, it was nice to have a bath in the morning as a change from the usual routine shower
the twin room I shared with a friend was comfortable and cosy, if a little fussy decoratively, but that is just personal taste.
The bathroom was large and the water was hot enough for two lazy baths. Shipton Grange house is a delightful conversion from, I assume, outbuildings to the adjacent manor, with a lovely, well kept walled garden. We were made very welcome and I would highly recommend this as a place to stay while in this part of the Cotswolds.
A warm welcome, followed by a comfortable and relaxing visit.
Just what was required.

Myself and my friend had a lovely stay in this chaming guest house.
The hostess is a lovely chatty lady and both myself and my friend had a great nights sleep and a lovely breakfast. The accomodation and bathroom was lovely and spacious.
