B & B 1 night stay near to Oxford
Booked via internet early hours on day of arrival.
Extremely friendly staff, lovely room (room 6) and excellent cooked breakfast.
Punting in oxford
Beautiful village location, wonderful room, gorgeous food and wine, delightful staff.
Caught a local bus into Oxford, quick and easy and no parking issues, then back again for a super meal, easy simple and fun.
Fantastic food, great service and lovely room.
The food here is stunning.
Our evening meal was sublime. And full English in the morning was very good too. Service from staff was excellent and the room was lovely. We were lucky enough to have room 8 which was essentially a top floor flat. Lovely period features such as beams, old wooden doors and winding staircase.
Great deal, thankful to all staff there
Lovely and peaceful spot, gorgeous and really spacious room, super comfy king bed and pillows, massive comfy bathtub, staff where really helpful with all our queries and breakfast was delicious.
Couldn't have asked for more, thank you!
Beautiful room - unlucky with the services
Our room was absolutely lovely.
Full of character and very comfortable. We were a bit unlucky with the timing of our visit though. The wireless was down all evening and then when we got up for breakfast, the electricity in the kitchen was off so there was no cooked breakfast. This was a bit of a disappointment to say the least.
Relaxing Stay Traditional with a Modern Twist
We both loved everything about the accommodation, the pub and the food was amazing.
My only two faults were when closing the bathroom door the door had dust on the back and the headboard when lying in bed was also dusty but the rest of the room was very good. When we had breakfast we were the first two down. We placed our order which the waitress read back to the chef in the kitchen very loudly the chef did not respond so she read it out again only to have the chef swearing out loud at her and using the F-word.. Such a shame as the service and everything about the place other than these points was amazing.
A great little hotel
A nice hotel, tucked away just outside Oxford so makes an ideal base for a city break.
Staff were helpful and friendly, although a short delay for a table for dinner was understandable given how busy they were. Room was nicely appointed, although one or two areas in the bathroom could do with closer inspection by the cleaners, but nothing seriously gross, just not spotless. The downer for us was an issue with breakfast the following morning, where it became clear that hygiene practices in the kitchen weren't all they should be. A quiet word with the manager assured me that this was a one off error, and would be corrected to ensure it wasn't repeated. After a gentle nudge to correct the charges, everyone left happy to return.
Can not wait to return.
Executive Room was fantastic, Large comfortable bed and great size bathroom.
We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. Highly recommended.
We chose this hotel based on this websites reviews.
We had a great stay in the suite as we were travelling with a 3 1/2 year old and a 1 year old. The features were lovely (exposed beams etc) though the spiral staircase made moving tricky (though again we were warned and it was also a lovely feature). The food was excellent and staff were accommodating of the family. There were a few areas in the room that could have been cleaned better however it was Boxing Day and it was not dirty. Overall we had a great stay and would gladly stop again and would recommend to others.
Bear and Ragged Staff
We enjoyed our stay here very much.
The hotel dates from the 1500s and has plenty of atmosphere. We took our car, as this hotel is outside Oxford and parking is not a problem. In order to spend the day in Oxford we used the very excellent Park and Rides. There was a bit of a problem with the restaurant one evening which was sorted out immediately once the manager was advised. We would use this hotel again and would not hesitate to recommend.
