memorable
This was a birthday treat for my student son. The accommodation was faultless (both garden rooms) and the food was excellent. Though none of us had ever had a tasting menu before the attentive staff put us at our ease despite this being formal service and we had a meal that we will remember for a very long time. Two of us are vegetarian and we had absolutely no complaints as our food was just as spectacular as our meat-eating companion.

A sweetheart of a place with wonderful personnel & dining.
We were a family of 6 adults & 5 kids (5 to 15 years old). We all felt welcome & well taken care-of.
The place is an old sweetheart in wonderful condition in its own park on the bank of a lovely river with the hills in the near distance, just out of town. The hamlet itself is a charmer. We loved the place, the people, the food, the service. And all very well priced for the value. We'd return any time we could!

Roman Camp Hotel
Booked a last minute break and was pleasantly surprised with this accommodation. The hotel was in an ideal location for persons wishing to relax or tour the local attractions. The staff were helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable.
The only thing missing was perhaps wifi but I am unsure if this was a bad thing. Lack of wifi in rooms and pubic areas only heightened a much needed relaxing break.

Excellent
Arrived in the snow, cold & tired to a large roaring fire in reception. Room & Bathroom were good, clean & tidy. Drink in the lounge again in front of a fire before dinner. Dinner & Breakfast were both excellent, but a little pricey. Staff very helpful & friendly. Good Hotel & standards keep high. Were good enough to post the phone charger I left behind.
