A little gem
One night stay with my daughter.
Our room had a floor to ceiling window with lovely views. Very comfortable bed. Real coffee- making facilities. Took two classes in the gym, one of which the instructor ran for me alone as no one else turned up. Wonderful views from the riverside restaurant. Th staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel isn't cheap but competitive with other central hotels and it's right in the heart of Cambridge so you can walk to everything.Would definitely stay here again.
Bit ordinary for 4 star hotel
Check in staff very good and polite, got me a cot to room within 5 mins and set it all up.
However no bar in hotel, told there is one just around corner but would be very busy tonight as its valentines weekend, (that was whole point of my trip) our room seemed much smaller than pictures on website. Bathroom very small, more en suite, water pressure very low in shower. Bed squeeked. Breakfast is available by going outside of hotel few metres down road through another door, down corridors up stairs, staff when we did get there were very good and attentive, not lots of choice but quality was good
Hotel staff couldn't do enough to accommodate any requests made of them.
Always friendly and helpful, even though it was clearly a very busy time over the New Year holiday. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Beautiful and unique
Absolutely loved staying in this hotel, the room was huge (we had the Exeter room 211), beautifully decorated and very elegant.
The hotel is in a great location 2 mins walk from the centre and the staff were also great and very informative. The car parking service is also brilliant and hassle free. We went for a massage in the spa attached to the hotel and that was also great. 100% recommend this hotel to anyone
Excellent Staff & Great Location
We stayed for one night and the staff were all very professional and friendly.
The location is perfect for a city break. The views from the roof top terrace are amazing and we will definitely return in the summer to enjoy a relaxing drink on the roof.
Well situated, clean and tidy with easy access to the Spa.
Both lounge bars were shut, the roof top due to the time of year and residents due to a private function which wasn't ideal as there were four of us. The steak restaurant was just "ok". The valet car parking service was excellent but costly.
The Varsity Hotel & Spa
We paid 400 pounds to stay for one night, in a room with a double bed.
There were four of us and we booked the penthouse suite. But the bed they put in the room literary felt as if you were sleeping on barbed wire. One of the receptionist was also really ignorant and rude didn't have any sense of professionalism. However the rest of the staff were polite especially Viola.
The Varsity Hotel & Spa
Nice rooms, friendly staff great roof bar and lovely food!
Loved the rooftop restaurant and the easy access to the gym/spa next door
We spent four nights at the Varsity to relax, workout, and visit Cambridge.
The people and the service were consistently great. Everyone was willing to help make our stay as welcoming and comfortable as possible. The rooms were nicely furnished, the beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms were well appointed (modern fixtures, great water pressure, etc.). The spa was next door with unlimited in out privelages included in the room rate. The excercise classes were free to guests, and all three I participated in were excellent. The proximity to the colleges, restaurants, and the sights was perfect.
