Great rooms

Stayed for just one night during the Bakewell show.

Booking in arrangements are a bit late. We could not get in until after 5pm. This was OK for us, but could be late for some. Were allowed to park in the grounds earlier though. Nice views from the gardens and the room. No food so cant comment.

Nice helpful welcome.

Room clean, shower a little tired. Handy having a fridge. Bed was uncomfortable though, and although advertised as a super king was very wide but not long enough - strange. I expected better for £105 for one night (room only).

Great accommodation, but a bit noisy!

The accommodation was lovely and perfectly situated in Bakewell, but we had the room right opposite the 'office' so there was a lot of coming and going, voices, etc throughout the day.

Also, people walked their dogs round the back and that was where our window was, so we didn't have any privacy. I would go back again to stay here, but ask for a room on the next floor up and away from the office. The staff were so helpful when my husband surprised me with flowers!

Beautiful self catering accommodation with a hotel feel.

Useful kitchenette in the mini apartments that are located behind the main house.

Clean and quiet. Highly recommend.

Almost great...

We had a room away from the house and it was well presented overall.

There's a lot to enjoy about the place - It's a short walk into the town and the staff are pleasant and helpful. For example, they give good advice on local restaurants. However, there were some things which weren't great. The bathroom window was at street level and didn't have a lock on it. It was essentially stuck closed from the outside with tape. We weren't that concerned because Bakewell probably has a low crime rate, but even so, not great. The breakfast was a bit disappointing overall as well. There is so much potential with Bagshaw, but they just need to tighten things up in different areas. For £100 a night I expected a bit more and in future would probably try somewhere else in Bakewell.

Lovely Stay

We stayed at the Sleep Lodge for one night midweek.

Upon arrival we were greeted and shown to our room. The room was lovely, very large and had a kitchenette with fridge, microwave etc. It was a perfect getaway within the centre of Bakewell. Very highly recommended. Please note that the card details entered on late rooms are used to charge the full price, despite saying that they will not.

Recreative stay

Everything was uncomplicated, we had a telephone number for being received and for any wishes we would have, but we didn't need it, because everything was okay.

There was a really warm welcome and a cordial farewell as well. We also met the owner who was very friendly and answered all our questions.

As Bakewell is in the middle of the Peak District National Park, many places of interest are in a reasonable distance and there are many activities offered. The town itself - situated at the River Wye with very nice parks and walkways - has a well-assorted supermarket, many nice tearooms (where you get coffee as well) and a lot of pubs offering very good and local food, and many stores of different kind anyway. The SleepLodge of Bagshaw Hall is situated on a hill, in a very quiet surrounding and our room on the first floor had a great view into the green and over the town. There was also a small kitchen unit which allows to make tea or coffee, prepare a meal (microwave) or breakfast, and of course free WiFi. Moreover, also the residents around were friendly and willing to give advice for activities or just to make a little small talk.

Bagshaw Hall and Sleep Lodge

Bagshaw hall is an Ideal location to explore Bakewell and the surrounding area.

We had a lovely weekend the room is adequate for short stay. Car parking is a bit tight.

Everyone sat together around a large table in the dining room, which would not suit all visitors, although you could have your breakfast in your room.

Breakfast was very nice but wasn’t served until 9.15am I think this was because it was a bank holiday weekend but worth bearing in mind.
