We had a large spacious room and large bathroom.
Generally, the room was good except it was directly over the bar. The bathroom and rest of the hotel looked tired, with poorly applied sealant round the bath, carpet coming off on the stairs. We only ate breakfast, which was fine, except no provision had been made for the coeliac in our party, despite stating this request on the booking and it being clearly displayed on the reception computer.
Handy and Friendly
Helpful staff, friendly ownners, handy location.
If you are a rower racing at Eton Dorney, then you have to stay here. The owner is an ex rower and lots of interesting rowing memorabilia in the hotel. Also good value.
Elva Lodge Hotel
Comfy double for one person. Room was fairly small but this wasn't an issue. Good shower, hot and powerful. Breakfast was ok. But nothing special.
One Night Stay
Very quirky and interesting hotel, a bit like Faulty Towers but without Basil.
Booked it for a nearby party we were going to and it did the job. Staff very helpful, room was clean and tidy, bit old fashioned but bed was very comfy and bathroom had was clean and efficient. Breakfast buffet was excellent and would certainly stay again if in the area.
Whilst the bedding and towels were very clean and good quality the décor in the downstairs rooms was very old fashioned and in need of decorating and indeed cleaning.
The staff tried hard and eventually we got served but felt that they were short staffed.
The staff very polite, for the price I would expect staff to be in uniforms.
Generally the hotel appeared a little tired and could do with "tarting up". Cigarette butts out side 1st floor rooms, gardens need tending, all in all I have stayed in worse (but not at that price
Good value Hotel.
Nice hotel, clean and suited requirements.
A Little dated on the outside but very clean rooms, staff OK but reception not always covered, have to ring a bell to get service / attention. Only had breakfast but food was good, would recommend.
food and stairs
I was disappointed that the restaurant is closed evenings at the weekend.
I had excellent bar food but was hoping for a full menu in the restaurant. I was alright using stairs but if I had been old or frail it would have been different. There is no lift. Maybe there are ground rooms but I did not ask.
Staying at Elva Lodge
We only spent one night and enjoyed our very short overnight stay.
The receptionist was very helpful, ordering taxis, making coffee etc. Onlycriticism was getting into our room which seemed to require a certain knack of turning the key, once again our very pleasant receptionist came to our rescue. Thank you Elva Lodge for our pleasant overnight stay.
