Reviews - Bedford Arms Hotel

3AA Assessed Hotel Ratings explained
Chenies , Rickmansworth, WD3 6EQ
The Bedford Arms Hotel is a charming and friendly country house hotel in the Chiltern village of Chenies, just ten minutes from Junction 18 of the M25.
Recently refurbished in a traditional English style, the hotel offers 18 superbly furnished bedrooms, two bars and the famous oak panelled
restaurant, widely considered the finest in the area.

There are eighteen bedrooms, all of which offer full en-suite facilities and equipped with all modern facilities guests would expect. Ten of the
bedrooms are individually designed and decorated in a traditional style and eight new contemporary designed bedrooms. These include two spacious
four-poster suites, one of which has a Jacuzzi. The décor and furnishings capture the style and ambience of the hotel. The majority of bedrooms have wonderful views of either the hotel gardens or the Chiltern countryside.

The Oak panelled restaurant, which overlooks the gardens, serves a traditional menu and a large wine list, which has recently been recognised
by being awarded an AA rosette for fine food. The Head Chef will be happy to accommodate any special requests that guests may have, whether it be a special dietary requirement, or just a dislike or desire for a particular type of food.

These are two bars for guests to enjoy at The Bedford Arms. The Shire Bar is a public bar open for Lunch and Dinner where guests will find a varied snack menu, offering everything from a small bite to eat to a three-course meal. The Cocktail Bar is used by residents and diners alike, and is the perfect setting for a pre-dinner drink before experiencing the A la Carte
menu in the main restaurant, or retreating for a post dinner coffee or nightcap before retiring to your room.

Service Equivalent of a top London Hotel but with the right amount of friendliness
We arrived later than planned due to traffic and upon calling, the Manager was very kind, ensuring we could still get a meal and helped us quickly to the room as my Son was sleeping. This establishment is obviously very well managed and the gentleman who seemed to be the Manager was very pleasant, professional and charming. All the staff were very efficient and kind. Room was lovely and very good value, food was great, woudl definitley return. Thanks to all!

This is the best hotel close to the M25 in Hertfordshire
This hotel is warm and friendly. Just had a recent refurb and it was great before. The best food available in the area.

Bedford Arms
The room was very good and comfortable, but though we booked for 2 people there was only one bath towel. This was soon remedied by the manager.
It's a nice looking place and looks like a traditional English country pub, though it doesn't really have that feeling once you're inside. The bar area is fitted out with tables and chairs, which take away the comfortable pub feeling that a place like this should have. The food is good, though a little expensive. This is definitely not a drinkers pub. The bar staff are pleasant, though impersonal, and the price of drinks will scorch your wallet. Like most hotels around the London area it isn't run by English people.

Fine hotel with one hopefully temporary problem
It is a really good place to stay. Everyone very friendly and helpful. Attractive, newly refurbished, and very welcoming. Dogs allowed. Just one small problem though. There was a distinct smell of drains in the stable block where we stayed. Doubtless this was temporary and did not detract from the enjoyment. We will go again.

Stay at The Bedford Arms
Staid here 24th October for 1 night for a friends birthday.
The b&b was very nice, lovely old building. Room was lovely, bed was comfy, very quiet and it had all of the usual compliments.
Breakfast was nice, the owners were very helpful and couldn't do enough for you.
Would stay again.

Tudor Style modern comforts
Lovely to admire the ancient fireplace and leaded windows and wooden paneling while having breakfast after having a good shower.

Review of Bedford Arms Hotel
We stayed 1 night at Bedford Arms Hotel in a double room with king size bed. The room and en-suite were a good size, clean and tastefully decorated. All staff were friendly and helpful - we received a warm welcome. The hotel itself has a cosy atmosphere and has character. We would definitely stay again

It was a pleaure tyo be welcomed at the Bedford arms hotel. Extremely kind, helpful engaging staff. Hotel is a little tired and in need of investment but apparently this is planned. More than made up for by the service though.
