For the half term I decided to do something with my daughter as a suprise.
My initial view was ok, check in was good girl with dark hair on front desk lovely. No lift to first floor with heavy cases I find a bit odd. Lift from first floor really could do with oiling. Room very clean apart from hair in the bath with my daughter found discusting, and coming from a 12year old. I really liked the staff in the downstairs bar my daughte said how lovely they were. we did order in as all restaurants were full and we could have only a piza or burger. Breakfast was um how can I put it,the lady serving had burnt her hand and was in pain, she was absolutely lovely and still tried to do everything. We did wait a good while for food at the buffet, the tables were all very dirty as there was not enough staff at all. The breakfast was lovely and plentifull. We went to the main hotel swimming and had to be out by 11am as all children do so to expect all them children and parents to fit into that tiny little changing room was mad.for such a big place crazy. When checking out we waited at rhe front desk for 5 mintes along with 5other people, the girl then strolled from the restaurant area no I'm sorry nothing. We do tend to stay at many hotels and this was not a favourite by far, quite dissapointed as it was a treat. I cant say I wouldnt stay again if need be but it wouldnt be a first choice.
Another very pleasant stay at this lovely hotel
We arrived quite late but we were quickly signed in.
We were booked into a twin room but that was changed without any problem to a double room. The room was very spacious and well supplied with everything that you would need. The bathroom had a lovely full length bath with shower above and beautiful soft towels. The only problem that we had was that only one of our appliances would connect to the Internet. In the event we did not explore this. It was my IPad air which would not connect while I usually do. Or have a problem with it. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast in pleasant surroundings. You could not really ask for more.
The room was in excellent condition and the bathroom was spotless with lovely products.
However a real let down was the complete absence of sound proofing between the bedrooms. I could hear the man in the next room blow his nose, cough and every word of the tv programme he was watching. Not quite what you expect from this standard of hotel.
Delightful Manor House
Was quite happy staying in the Manor House.
Lovely room, helpful staff and pleasant food in the Patio Excellent massage from Tracey
I thought this hotel was excellent, we had a brilliant time.
Spa was lovely, food was lovely, room was lovely. Would certainly come back again.
The hotel appears to have been recently refurbished and now provides direct access to the main resort hotel which is great.
it is quiet and comfortable and great for a get away!
Luxury at an affordable price
A must for all types of bookings a friendly relaxing experience
Wow, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for
One of my top 5 hotels I have stayed in and I stay away once a week on average.
Health club immaculate, staff polite and food very well presented and tasty all being on the expensive side and rather limited if you just want a bar snack. Only gripe I have is the checkout took about 15 mins on both occasions I have stayed here as only one receptionist on duty
Stayed at the hotel before, but on this occasion it was very noisy.
Although I accept it is a golf resort, there seemed to be a large number of male only groups who showed little consideration to other guests when walking through the corridors or waiting for the lift early in the morning
Some good some bad
We were very excited to be going to Celtic Manor and the resort is amazing.
However, our room in the Manor House was a "double executive", this was in fact two single beds pushed together - we were not expecting that. The lady on reception offered to let us change rooms but it was exactly the same. It seemed as if the room door was made of cardboard as you could hear everything going on in the corridor. But apart from our disappointment with the room the rest of the resort is brilliant. The bus service taking you around was brilliant and the bus drivers are an absolute credit to Celtic manor with their professionalism and also willingness to assist, information sharing and general demeanour - each bus driver was happy to talk and tell us about the resort, the surrounding area etc. Well done. We preferred the Lodge to have our evening meals and it did not disappoint, the food was very good and reasonably priced. Overall great stay, but don't expect too much unless you stay in the main resort.
