It will be nice when it's finished!
This hotel is being up graded.
The new room which we eventually settled in are fine though work needs to be done on the TV and showers. The restaurant is close for refurbishment so breakfast was toast and cold croissant not ideal but adequate. However the price we paid reflected all this and the location is stunning. We will look to go back next year when the work is finished.
Comfortable night's stay
Lovely riverside location, convenient for Reading and Henley.
Customer service friendly and attentive. Hotel being refurbished (pre-advised - complete in July) so restaurant providing restricted service. No problem: provided an excellent continental breakfast (cereal, croissant, toast/jam, fresh fruit, juice, tea/coffee), waiter-served in riverside restaurant. Bedroom newly refurbished: clean, comfortable and modern. Free wi-fi fast and easy to use. Mobile signal variable due to valley location. Would rate food higher if restaurant were open throughout day/evening, but factored into competitive room-tariff.
Lovely room, beautiful setting
A nicely refurbished hotel which was still undergoing work during our stay.
The staff we came in contact with we're polite and helpful. The continental breakfast was basic but nice with the option of paying for more breakfast if you wish. The room was freshly painted and looked smart and had everything we required.
Nice room - stingy on the breakfast.
The room was comfortable and clean, however every noise from the room above could be heard and there were a few niggles about maintenance: The fader gang light switch by the door had one missing knob, another knob was faulty, and a couple of the bulbs they controlled were blown.
The radiator cover in the bathroom was falling off. The bathroom door knob was nearly off. They are small things, but obvious. I felt that a full English or cooked breakfast should've been included in the price and not been an extra. Even so, we enjoyed our stay.
Poor room one of the worst I have every been in, Poor Poor room would not stay again if free!!
Horror as opened the bed to find top sheet soiled.
Everything old, bed still made up from manky bed sheets no duvet covers!
very friendly country hotel
Very good service.
room was a bit dated but it was in a very old house. Very warm and comfortable.
Fab time, great Customer Service, Beautiful Setting and Wonderful value.
Excellent staff, fantastic location
We really enjoyed our stay - just one small gripe and that was that the food, while fine, was not up to the standard which I have previously experienced there (maybe because the menu was a bit restricted for the Christmas holiday period).
All the staff, without exception, were pleasant, efficient, friendly and very courteous.
Could be what it wants to be
Nice location overlooking the Thames.
The room provided in the Hideaway was unsuitable mainly due to the traffic noise. The outside window was broken and could not closed rendering the secondary glazing ineffective. The decorative state of the room was very dated. However the response of the receptionist the following morning was exceptional and the alternative room provided was very nice and could not be faulted.
Everything very good except...
...the room could have done with a bit of an airing as there was a slightly musty smell.
That apart, everything was excellent.
