An enjoyable stay with a picturesque view
Our stay at the hotel included an evening performance of a comedy play at the adjacent Sonning Mill Theatre/Restaurant. The hotel is ideally situated to walk to the theatre. The play was excellent as was the quality of the food served in the buffet restaurant.

Very tired and dated hotel with badly cleaned bathroom and small, hot, smelly and noisy room.
Terrible night's sleep. Will never return.

I have been staying at the Great House on an ad-hoc basis for a few months now, one or sometimes two nights on different days most weeks. I think it is really nice, with great food and staff plus parking. The rates are good compared to most locally, especially with brakfast factored in.

Great House Sonning Visit
Was given an upgrade, nice room, but some attention to detail required by staff. Loose tiles in bathroom flooring and loose fitments on shower screen. Very nice room though with fresh fruit.
Hotel requires some modernisation to main bar etc.
Breakfast service was very disorganised, I was in a hurry and left without seeing the waiter after coffee was served
