An absolute MUST if staying near Folkestone.......perfect, lovely hosts and a wonderful setting !!
I am always on the look out for a 'local experience' as opposed to a traditional 'hotel chain' and I stumbled upon this venue through late rooms, so I booked up for an overnight stay.
From the minute I arrived I was made to feel most welcome by Graham and he did everything possible to make me feel at home. Clearly a lot of thought and attention has gone into their offering with the room tastefully appointed and a close eye to detail apparent. The bathroom was stunning with a heated floor and the room was light and comfortable. (Saxon Shore Room) Graham and I got chatting about wine (as you do !) and he offered me a tour of the vineyard which was delightful. Clearly a passion of his, Graham was able to talk me through the local history and also the challenges of owning a vineyard as a business. We then tasted some wine which resulted in me purchasing a couple of bottles of their produce which I will enjoy with my fiance.....its great knowing that I met the owners. That night I slept like a baby and the bed was comfortable and so so quiet.......I simply could not fault it. Breakfast was beautifully presented and Lorna (Grahams lovely wife) had made every effort to meet my paleo dietary requirements - she even sprinted from their house with my eggs...that was a first....!. Great hosts and like staying with family.....!

Rooms at the Winery, is the perfect romantic getaway offering an incite into the wine and champagne making process.
