About the hotel
If the idea of staying in an historic hotel in the centre of Oxford appeals,Tower House is the obvious choice. Two of our contemporary deluxe rooms, Bastion & Foundry, are quietly tucked away in one of the 21 bastions within the 13th century 2 mile long city wall. Spacious rooms with kingsize beds, both have lovely modern bathrooms - the Foundry on the ground floor has a large walk in shower & the Bastion, up a small narrow staircase has a generous rolltop bath with a handheld shower.
If your taste is for something more modern, we have 6 stylish rooms in our 3 storey, 16th century town house on Ship Street. We are rather fond of our narrow stairs, wobbly walls and slightly uneven floors but we appreciate for the taller of our guests, 16th century architecture may be a challenge as our ceilings are pretty low. Our bedrooms are tasteful and modern and you can choose from 3 double ensuite rooms or small doubles with a shared WC & shower room. The Jade and Red rooms, both with kingsize beds, face onto Ship Street and although they are usually quiet, occasional reports of enthusiastic late night revelry have reached us so if you prefer something quieter, the Yellow room with a standard double bed may appeal. All three have contemporary bathrooms with shower, washbasin and WC. For guests seeking a friendlier price range, we have three lovely small double rooms - Pink, Blue and Little Blue. All three have a washbasin in the room and standard double beds and are decorated in a combination of painted and period furniture. All our rooms have flat screen TVs, tea and coffee etc and free wifi. As part of the Hub Ventures family, out of hours check in is managed by Turl Street Kitchen where you will be served a delicious breakfast - we're not keen on fry ups but how do real sausage or bacon sandwiches or french toast with maple syrup sound? Kippers and salmon too! TSK has a well deserved reputation for locally sourced, seasonal menus & the atmosphere is so chilled.

100% would recommend it to a friend
Lovely accommodation, room was clean and well presented.
The welcome was warm and friendly, handy for the Ashmolean which was only 7/8 minutes away. The only disappointment was the breakfast at the Turl Street Kitchen, having advised one waitress that we were guests at The Tower House when leaving the premises we were called back to be told we had not paid for breakfast and had to explain again that we were staying at the Tower House, no teaspoons to stir the tea with. Would suggest that any future guests at The Tower House be issued with a voucher to hand over on arrival at the Turl Street Kitchen advising that they were paying guests and had already paid for breakfast as part of the room rate.
A super little hotel with all the charm of home.
Not boutiquey, no pretentious stuff, just good old fashioned friendliness and warmth combined with a comfy room for the night. Excellent location in the city centre and Turl kitchen for breakfast eased me into my day with a smile. Highly recommended if you just like to chill. Thank you.
