About the hotel

The Tower House is a sixteenth century townhouse situated on a quiet street in the heart of Oxford city centre. The Tower House has eight unique rooms each one is individually designed and furnished with period antiques. The property is steeped in history, the bastion of the medieval city walls form part of the breakfast room and the front of the hotel overlooks Jesus College.

The Tower House is a listed building, and is an ideal place to stay while you explore the delightful city of Oxford, famous for its dreaming spires, ancient University colleges and beautiful architecture. Our sister restaurant Turl Street Kitchen provides meals and a lively late night bar just a couple of doors down.

Historic Gem

Lovely accommodation, room was clean and well presented.

The welcome was warm and friendly, handy for the Ashmolean which was only 7/8 minutes away. The only disappointment was the breakfast at the Turl Street Kitchen, having advised one waitress that we were guests at The Tower House when leaving the premises we were called back to be told we had not paid for breakfast and had to explain again that we were staying at the Tower House, no teaspoons to stir the tea with. Would suggest that any future guests at The Tower House be issued with a voucher to hand over on arrival at the Turl Street Kitchen advising that they were paying guests and had already paid for breakfast as part of the room rate.

Relaxed Atmosphere

A super little hotel with all the charm of home.

Not boutiquey, no pretentious stuff, just good old fashioned friendliness and warmth combined with a comfy room for the night. Excellent location in the city centre and Turl kitchen for breakfast eased me into my day with a smile. Highly recommended if you just like to chill. Thank you.
