This place is clean and tidy and good for someone who just wants to get there heads down.
It's not for romancing, unless you don't mind walking up and down corridors searching for available toilet cubicles.
Corridors appeared gloomy. Had feel of several boxed prefabricated buildings fitted together
Disability room unavailable due to bathroom leak from upstairs room.
No lifts meant struggling up two flights stairs. No attempt to transfer guest to another hotel.
Decor of building gloomy. Bed covers and curtains headboards were dark brown or purple but looked black and made small room seem even smaller.
No storage closet/cupboard for clothes just hanging hook rail which was too high on the wall. No bedside tables and no lamps. Only one light switch by entrance door which meant stumbling in and out of bed in dark
Bathroom clean and adequate but with the shower cubicle being one foot from floor it required a small hand grip. Something to hold onto when getting out of shower with wet feet.
Inside shower there was nowhere to put he soap. A small soap tray needs fitting.
Health Hazard:- small plastic bath mat with suction pads to help it stick to floor just outside shower.
This was wet between mat and floor probably from previous guests. Very unhygienic.
It would be better like other hotels to provide a small terry towelling type bath mat with each stay. This could be collected and changed daily with linen.
Finally one Xtra large bath towel whilst very nice, was very hard and rough and insufficient. A smaller towel should be available for hands and face. Bathroom also needed a small waste bin and some bags for ladies disposable items. There was no shampoo only shower gel. Just one small tube not enough bearing in mind travellers may want to shower on arrival and early morning, the day before the housekeeping ladies bring replacements
Room had a nice looking wall mounted TV but no instructions for use. I turned it on once but when I tried to put it on again it wouldn't work. Since the reception desk was down two flights of stairs and along two very long corridors it had to remain NOT in USE.
Tea making facilities available but two tea bags over two days for two people!!. No telephones in rooms and long trek to reception!. Although not used by us there was a downstairs dining area with a couple of small tables and a microwave which seemed somewhat odd and gave the impression of a work and hostel plus laundry rooms.
The beds were clean an comfortable. Room had heater and large opening windows should it be hot.
The heated towel rail in bathroom and ventilation fan were also good.
Staff were polite and friendly.
