Bad Service

The room was warm and clean no faults there. We had a meal in the Restuarant/bar which was some experience.

You have to order and pay upfront at the small Bar counter where we met the most ignorant man we ever encountered. One of our group asked for a side order of gravy with his roast chicken and was told it was not in his system and therefore was not available. However one of our group had sausage and mash and when served there was more gravy than food on her plate.( sausages inedible)

We ordered four starters and four main courses. The same man that took our order was also serving us.The first starter was banged down on the table in front of the wrong person who happened to be nearest to the kitchen door. Each starter arrived 15 minutes apart and were banged down on the table in front of the same person. The exact same procedure happened with the main courses at least with 30 minutes between first and last main course. The food was reasonably ok except the sausage and mash but the shocking attitude of the guy serving us ruined it all. Never again. The following morning this guy knocked on one of our doors at 10.30 announced that he was security and burst in past the couple claiming that they were smoking in the room, which was untrue as they are both non smokers. Both guests were partially dressed. The lady is 69 years old. We were all shocked and got out of there as fast as we could before something else happened with this guy. The rest of the staff were good. We have stayed there in the past and in many similar places in the UK and across the world including Africa and Asia and never witnessed such ignorance.
