The room was clean had a nice big bed, tv kettle with tea and coffee.
Everything was nice the only thing that was not nice was men coming back drunk making a lot of noise and knocking on our door.
when booking I checked it had lifts, I have 2 new knees and my partner recovering from triple heart bypass.
we were designated a 4th floor room. Ok because it had lifts. On returning to the Travelodge Bournemouth we found both lifts out of use. I also have a great fear / phobia of open sided stair cases so could not use them. Another room was offered, so my partner had to climb the stairs to repack our belongings. I told the staff that he should not be climbing 8 flights of stairs and was very distressed. She offered to go and help him, but didn't see the bigger problem. 10 mins later she climbed the stairs to go help him. at the same time my partner found the lift worked from the top down. he then had to climb the stairs once again... she reappeared and said he was not up there. it was a fiasco for sure. Eventually an hour later we was settled into our new room. we was offered a free breakfast as compensation. Another fiasco, it was awful.!!. the result of my partner climbing those stairs wiped him out completely for out duration there. it was our first break away since his operation. A badly needed break for sure.!!. We are both appalled. A lady who had just signed in refused to climb the stairs to her room, stated she had been there 3 times and each time the lifts broke down. The staff were helpful but sadly had no understanding of the fact my partner may have had another heart attack climbing those8 flights of stairs, twice. We have arrived home very unhappy. A breakfast was no compensation. On a lighter more positive note, we was impressed with the comfortable bed 10/10 for that. Also bus stop close by was a plus. Will we go back ?????
