About the hotel

In 1213, after the Norman Conquest, the wooded land we now know as Minchinhampton Common was confiscated and given to l`Abbaye aux Dames in Caen. Some 800 years later Christophe and his business partner Nick continue to add to this fascinating Anglo/French story. The Old Lodge itself dates back some 400 years and is reportedly a former hunting lodge to Henry VIII.

The most recent project and the boys only hotel to date. The Lodge has magnificent views and an envied position at the centre not only of the common with its free ranging cattle but of Minchinhampton Golf Course. The stunning restaurant has floor to ceiling windows that look directly onto the common and the professional yet relaxed service is delivered by Daniel Wood and his team. Recently refurbished, all rooms have contemporary decoration with stylish furnishings and luxury linen and bedding. Each room comes equipped with wireless broadband, DVD, and digital LCD TV as standard. All bathrooms feature either bath and/or power shower. The Old Lodge makes an instant impression. Individually designed rooms, large restaurant, local ales, and roaring log fires in winter guarantee to make your stay a memorable one.

Just the right balance of quality/informality!

Having previously lived in the area, there were no surprises.

But the Old Lodge has been well-maintained, lost none of its Cotswolds character and was a particularly pleasant and relaxing place to stay. The service was pleasant and efficient. Quality of food and breakfast was excellent. Can't stress enough how assured and relaxed we were made to feel - highly recommended!!

Lovely hotel, Great staff.

The staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.

The hotel room was very comfortable. We had dinner in the evening at the hotel and the food was excellent.

Breakfast was just as good. Would highly recommend a stay here.
