About the hotel
You will be assured of a warm and friendly welcome at this 17th century beamed cottage which offers delightful accommodation and is situated just a few minutes walk from Stow Square. Built in 1640 it was originally an Ale House called "The Cross Keys" where the beer was brewed in the cellar. In 1660 a second cottage was built behind the original dwelling and quite recently a further extension was added, giving Cross Keys deceptively comfortable and spacious accommodation.
On the ground floor you will find the breakfast room where a superb choice of breakfasts is served. There are also two lounge area for guests use - one with television and welcoming open log fires to keep you cosy on winter evenings. Cross Keys is awarded Three Diamond Status by the Heart of England Tourist Board and is privileged to be included in the U. S. A. 's Frommers Guide with a star rating and Rick Steve 2013/14

Straight away from the first greeting at the door from Margaret we new we had chosen the right place to stay for our short week end stay in Stow.
Margaret and Roger were the perfect hosts. We would definitely tell anyone we know visiting this lovely part of the country to book the Cross Keys cottage in Stow on the Wold. The cottage was just such a beautiful building. Of corse must not forget to mention the superb breakfast. Thank you very much.
