You don't have to climb to the top, take a picnic along with you, rest at the foot of the great mountain and be amazed by the views..
A little over seven miles away is the Italianate style village of Portmeirion. This world famous attraction is a must for all visitors to North Wales. Secluded on a private peninsula, this village was opened in 1926 and boasts beautiful gardens and walks, along with breathtaking architecture throughout.
Don't forget there are the narrow gauge railways in the area - Ffestiniog Railway, home of the unique Double Fairlie locomotives - Welsh Highland Railway, takes you all the way to Caernarfon - Welsh Highland Heritage Railway and the Tal-y-Llyn Railway
