Real hit and miss
The staff here are ace.
Food both evening meal and breakfast were very good and fresh. No probs there at all. The bathroom was horrendous. The sink has an open pipe that drains directly onto the floor in the shower where you stand and it was filthy, full of grime and mould. I didnt even use it. The worst bathroom I have ever had and I have stayed in 100's of hotels, buy and use some bleach. The mattress needs throwing away, it sags terribly where 1 million other people have slept in it previously. I had a terrible nights sleep. The wifi was useless and the coffee cups I had to wash before using as they had old coffee stains in them. Will I stay here again. NO.
Friendly and relaxing
We spent one night here and really enjoyed it.
The countryside and local villages and towns are beautiful. The host and staff were all very friendly and couteous;the food (including our evening meal) was delicious. There was a lovely resident dog. Other customers seemed cheerful and relaxed. We did have a problem with the bed, but luckily managed to sort it out before we needed to use it. We also, not having a sat nav, found it hard to find the pub. The address was Hook Norton, but it was quite far out, on the junction of two main roads. All in all, it was a perfect break. Thank you,
