3 night stay in August

The first impressions of the hotel were really good.

Outside is kept lovely and the communal areas inside are beautiful and clean and the owners and staff are very helpful and friendly. However when we went to our room (number 21 ) we were in for a huge shock. The room itself was quite small but there was only myself and my teenage son staying so that wasn't a problem . The plug socket was loose and moved around when used and the wall light above the bed kept falling off the wall , before we left the room I fixed it back on but each time we arrived back it had fallen back off again . The wallpaper was peeling away around the top of the wall and there was a slight smell of damp to the room. By far the worst was the bathroom , each time we emptied the sink the water came back up through the shower and the smell which accompanied it was like an open sewer. The shower cubicle was filthy with thick mould around the tiles and the shower head was coated in what can only be described as brown gunge. It is a shame the room was in the state it was as the food and everything else was lovely .
