Dont believe a word

Arrived and became worried when we did not have to register.

Room was okay but a bit disappointing having seen website photographs. Glasses were dirty and hairdrier was 20 yards from a mirror at nearest socket. Breakfast was not what we expected having read reviews saying that the rate being expensive was made up for in the warm welcome and excellent breakfast. Breakfast table had no tablecloths or menus and were not laid out with cups etc. Breakfast was full english with choice of egg. Toast appeared 15 mins before full english. Egg underside was brown. The wrong breakfast were given out. When I paid without complaining as I am not that type of person the £242 should on reflection have been the same as the cheapest bed and breakfast in Oxford.

One night stay at Newton House

Easy and early check-in (1pm) and only a short walk to city centre.Comfortable bed and seemed a quiet location despite being on the main road.

Unobtrusive staff who were happy for us to leave our bags there after checking out so we didn't have to carry them around Oxford for the day. Breakfast was good but it would be easier for the waitress if there were laminated menus on the table so she didn't have to list all the choices for each guest.
