Although it was cold outside, the rooms were very warm, windows were covered so couldn't see outside, breakfast was nice, very polite and nice staff, would stay again
An adequate stay
There was nothing serious wrong with the Esplanade Hotel.
It was clean and tidy but could have been much more with some thought and a bit of application. There was an element of design but it was incomplete and poorly executed. The room I stayed in was an odd shape, and it had a feature wall and curtains to compliment that wall the problem was the other walls and the carpet clashed with the design plan, this mismatch and odd combinations was carried through all the rooms we visited. The bar was open but was furnished and decorated tastelessly, very un-inviting so we didn't go in. The staff we met were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. With all that it would need to be a very convincing argument to convince me to stay here again.
