Dog friendly B&B with chickens.
I had to travel with my big hairy dog, who is pretty calm most of the time.
We were made very welcome at College Farm and there is a farm track and fields for walks just outside the farmyard, which was very convenient, especially for that last night time amble. The room was spacious, everything worked and it was very warm. Too warm for me. But windows opened and covers could be thrown off, so not a problem.
It should be understood that this is a farmhouse style B&B, not a chic boho hotel sort of place. Mr and Mrs were extremely friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good, with as much tea and toast as you could get down you. The room was comfortable, not "posh" and that's fine with me.
A Very Enjoyable Stay
I really enjoyed staying at College Farm.
Arriving just before 9.00pm, I was concerned that I would be too late to eat at the local pub. My hosts helped me settle in quickly and rang the pub to allow me to order my evening meal over the 'phone. The room was nicely presented and cosy with very clean toilet and shower. Being well off the road, the area is quiet and I got a very good nights sleep in a comfortable bed. The cooked breakfast was excellent. My hosts were very friendly and they went the 'extra mile' to ensure that I had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Highly recommended
