You expect better than this

My stay here was marred by the fact that the hotel had an unexpected influx of people whose flight had been cancelled and descended on them.

Because of this, and despite asking 3 times over the course of an hour for someone to come and help me with the air conditioning in my room, which wasn't working, no-one bothered. It was pretty unbearable as there were thunderstorms about and the air in the room was so hot and sticky I got almost no sleep. I wouldn't have minded waiting if someone had turned up in the end. I also noticed that the cleaner hadn't bothered to wipe the shelf underneath the sink. The shelf wasn't fixed in properly and almost fell on my foot which is how I noticed. The shelf on the side, where the drinks are, was also undusted. This is obviously a cleaner who doesn't like his/her job and does the bare minimum. One expects better from a 4* hotel. The room was lovely overall - shame about the cleaner - and the room-service food I had was top-notch (shame about the lack of service from reception).
