About the hotel

A lovely Edwardian house built toward the beginning of the 20th century. The house is set back from the road in a quiet and peaceful location, ensuring guests have a relaxing stay. The rooms have nice views over gardens and the grounds of the church opposite.

The entrance hall opens to a large and impressive staircase, taking the guest up to the rooms. These rooms are comfortable and nicely furnished. You have a choice of three double rooms, a family room and a triple room – so there’s something for everyone. We welcome business guests and we have wireless broadband throughout, secure off-road parking and easy access to the motorway network. We’re only 35 minutes from Manchester and Liverpool airports. We’re very easy to get to and find and the railway station and coach station are about 5-10 minutes away by taxi. There is a quiet garden that gets the afternoon sun, and is a lovely place to sit and relax. Hoole Village is an interesting part of Chester. It’s a self-contained area, with a traditional ‘high street’ and lots of smaller shops. It’s only a stroll from Lavender Lodge, and makes a great place to wander around – plus it has some great places to eat!

Garden rooms are great

What a lovely place to stay.

Upon arrival I was asked if I'd be OK in a garden room instead of the main guesthouse. That was super; secluded but really nice rooms round the back in the courtyard garden. Much more private. Room was well appointed, nicely decorated and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was good, and there was the biggest bowl of fresh strawberries, blackberries and other fruits I've seen. Price was reasonable. In fact it was better value than a lot of hotels I have stayed at and better price than your 'budget highway lodges' know the ones. So all in all the Lavender Lodge ticks all the right boxes and I will definitely have it as my first choice when next working that way again. I would also like to go back with my partner as she'd like it as well.
