About the hotel

Tucked well away from the hustle and bustle in the delightful village of Kidmore End, just 5 miles to the north of Reading, The New Inn has undergone an extensive makeover and has everything to offer from a cosy bar with an open fire to a charming atmospheric restaurant and six state of the art, extremely modern luxurious rooms. When you step through the doorway of this country pub, the outside world seems to evaporate, sweet aromas fill the air and the mind turns to thoughts of food. The restaurant couples the warmth and charm of a local hostelry with a well-crafted a la carte menu of honest hearty food as well as light lunch dishes and irresistible desserts, Every dish is created from fresh produce and cooked to order.

The high standard of cuisine extends to the service and overall experience. This delightful village inn successfully combines traditional charm with stylish sophistication. The popular bar offers real ales and a selection of bar snacks whilst more formal meals can be taken in the adjacent restaurant. Bedrooms are modern and peaceful and some have their own patios and balconies. You’ll be pleasantly surprised when you are shown to your room, it’s not something you would expect to find off the beaten path. State of the art designs, with attention to every detail including wireless Internet access and LCD plasma television screens. Please Note: We are closed between the hours of 3pm and 6pm Monday thru Friday, and not open on a Sunday evening. CHECK IN ON A SUNDAY IS Before 3pm As the New Inn is Closed Sunday Evenings.

Stuff the city centre hotels, try this place for value for money.

Struggling to get a room in the city for less than £100 I stumbled across this little place.

Apart from not being able to check in when I arrived at 4:45pm, I trired calling but no answer and the pub appeared to be locked, it was also closed between 3pm and 6pm. I put this down to staff numbers which being a small establishment I can understand. The room was warm, cosy, had some character about and I a great nights sleep. The food was freshly cooked, fillet steak for dinner was amazing and an English breakfast cooked perfectly. Thd pub had a traditional pub feel about it, a fire burning, it was really busy with locals during the evening and a wide range of traditional beers on tap. I'll be returning for certain next time I stay in the Reading area.

First Time...

Normally stay in Reading centre, however, short notice visit and usual accommodation not available.

Great find, lovely room, good food and friendly staff (oh, and nice beer too!). I'll be back!
