a hotel well worth returning to
Our stay at Bath Manor was very enjoyable.
The staff were very attentive and courteous. We had an attic room which was very comfortable although the lighting in the bathroom was too subdued and the shower very fierce. Sandblasting comes to mind!. The food was excellent but the evening dinner was rather pricey and at the price charged you would not expect to pay extra for vegetables. In spite of this we would recommend to friends and return ourselves . Our timetable did not allow for us to make use of the fantastic spa and facilities, so we have to come back!.
Brilliant find but a few faults to work on
We have just had a lovely stay at New Park Manor and were very excited to find a luxury family friendly hotel.
The complimentary crèche (The Den) was wonderful. I have two girls aged 3 and 5 months and both were made to feel very welcome. I felt completely assured and relaxed leaving them in the care of the staff there. Very professional and competent. My 3 year old had a wonderful time and the intinery of activities were brilliant. From baking to beading with a lovely garden are and chill out area for book reading and naps. The crèche is Creche is next to the spa and when my 5 month old became upset the staff came to find me and I was able to settle her. The crèche is complimentary from 10-12 and 3-5 everyday for you to leave your little ones (you need to stay on site) and then open the rest of the day with parental supervision. The spa was lovely but could have done with a few improvements. The tropical rain shower, steam room or jet shower didn't seem to be working and there was just one person in the spa - running reception, the bar and manning the phones so they were never available to ask. We were often waiting in reception for a while before being given a locker key because the staff member was in the kitchen making drinks or serving tables or on the phone. Also, the changing rooms were very small and there was nowhere to put my daughter. On the first day there was just a loose changing mat being used by another guest. There were also a hen do of 5 women and two other wet women with babies waiting for the one changing mat. I had to lay my baby down on a towel on the wet floor to get her dry as she we were both cold and then put her on the bench while standing up against it to stop her rolling off whilst getting myself dressed. Not family friendly at all. The second day there was no changing mat at all and the girl behind the spa reception was unable to leave the desk to find another - besides my daughter and I were both wet again. The food in the evening was a little expensive but was delicious (I ate from the children's menu which was plenty). We ate outside while our 3 year old bounced on the trampoline and played in the teepee which was very lovely for us and the tables all got chatting. Ben the waiter was very nice. There were a couple of problems in the room. No remote for the tele and a broken fan in a hot room but both were fixed with a phonecall to reception. The next morning the staff at breakfast seemed a little confused and sleepy. We were given a plate of toast with no condiments and by the time we found someone it was cold and there were a couple of very friendly hotel dogs sitting at our feet waiting for leftovers. Overall we had a very lovely time in a beautiful hotel in an idyllic location just a few improvements needed.
