Bad, location does not excuse filth!

Dirty, filthy communal areas, ripped carpets (in places where heels can't get to!!), filthy carpets throughout, the carpet in our room had not been vacuumed as there were hairs all over it & even CRISPS!!.

Stinking surfaces on the tired & dated cupboards. Tries to use the excuse that it's 'budget in a good location ' line but filth & squalor is unacceptable with any budget!!!

Could be better

The room was clean, but very old (same as bathroom).

A chair was literally falling apart. Had to walk up to the 5th floor on steep steps. No free parking. The only real advantage is a central location, right on the main street, close to all nightlife.

A good, basic, value for money, family room although the shower door was a bit tricky to close.

Good service, for a very reasonable price.

I would recommend it, especially for a short stay.

One night only

The pleasantness of the staff was very good indeed.

They were especially kind over breakfast as I was in a hurry to catch a train. Their warmth did not match the state of the room which was rather down at heel with a most uncomfortable mattress. The bathroom provided all one's needs and the water was a good temperature. I paid only £66 for bed and breakfast, but have stayed in other hotels for that price and found them in much better condition. The situation of this hotel is most central and I appreciated being able to walk centrally.

i would not fate this b and b it most certainly not value for money

we are very well travelled people and have stayed all over the country but this has to be the worst place i have ever stayed in and it does not warrant a 4 star.

shall i begin i had 75 stairs to climb to go to my room, the carpet was threadbare and dangerous, the window would not open, the plug hole was full of rubbish, there was mould on the wall, the bed had all the springs coming through and we didnt sleep we found another duvet in cupboard which helped a bit, the tea and coffee was rubbish as we were only given enough sugar for one cup, no one could have hoovered the stairs or the rooms in ages as there was only one plug for 8 flights of stairs. I have used laterooms many time before and if you rate this b and b as a 3 star i will not be using it again. i know it was advertised as a budget b and b but that is no excuse for dirt. i have stayed in travelodge and premier inns and for only 29 pound at least i know they are clean,

An Over Night Stay

We had an overnight stay as a family from London the room was clean and the location is well situated in the town centre.

The only problem was that the stairs were step and there was no lift. Good exercise if you stay on the third floor but otherwise all good.
