A room dripping in romance and history..

A fabulous room steeped in history and luxury.

Staff very attentive. Nothing too much trouble. So lucky to have a feature room for the price we paid. Much better on a Sunday or week day. Also it was quiet set away from the main corridors. Have been before and would strongly recommend

Coombe Abbey Hotel Warwickshire

I wanted to treat my husband for his birthday and our wedding anniversary, perfect for something a little special.

Food is excellent. We would stay again.

Great hotel disgraced by the catering

Hotel is beautiful in lovely setting.

Accommodation is more than fine

But for a hotel of that quality the kitchen really is a disgrace with so many bad experiences which was echoed by other guests

The dinner is extremely expensive and the portions truly tiny. Additional vegetables are tiny and a potato gratin was a couple of slabs of something. Bread ordered didn't arrive as too late. Breakfast menu included haddock and kipper but except for first day it had to be ordered a day before - absurd for hotel of that class

No lunch menu but instead afternoon tea - which was refused my family as we had to order a day before. When I complained a 'customer service' woman explained she 'knew where I was coming from' - full stop. You can't go elsewhere as the Abbey is isolated.

There are other minor grumbles about the quality of the cooking but basically it seems very finance and 'chef driven'. Clearly financially successful from conferences and weddings but the private visitor really counts for nothing

Would not recommend it sadly - it once was a great place

Coombe Abbey Hotel Warwickshire

Beautiful building, top class d├ęcor and the best medieval banquet we've been to (and we've been to a few!).

Excellent location and fantastic restaurant food

Unique historical setting , great for photos and excellent grounds.

Room looked old with four poster bed but apparently was a new one built in 1990's. Room very dark so atmospheric and in keeping. Conservatory breakfast good , better when cooked to order than buffet (not sure why this varies). Bar food ok (burger way overcooked) but restaurant food was exceptional . Variety , imaginative and superb flavours. Do walk around the park it is excellent. Staff exceptionally friendly yet professional. Rooms vary a lot so would be good to know which part of the building you will be in. My only negative (except for the burger and long wait for it - rescued by Tony and some crisps plus great stories) was the thick layer of dust on top of the huge four poster bed (I am tall enough to reach) . Difficult not to be impressed by the building and surroundings . This is a hotel with real character (and characters).

Excellent hotel, great food and a place with real character.

Fabulous room with great character.

Could do with more lights as very dark but that is very much a minor comment as I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend the hotel. Food was very good plus the bar and restaurant service was outstanding. Stayed at the hotel a few years ago and all was good then so will definitely be staying again.

Great experience

Can't fault my time at Coombe Abbey, the room was great with loads of period features.

The staff provided excellent customer service and were all really helpful. The hotel has a wonderful period feel with complimentary grounds with formal garden to take a stroll in - I would definitely stay here again.
