5* Hotel With 2* Staff
Our stay was ok but could have been really good if some of the staff (not all) were a bit more interested or customer friendly.

The Celtic Manor - Resort Hotel
Rooms look tired and in need of refurbishment. Our bathroom had a cracked wash hand basin, mini fridge didn't work, sliding door frame was dirty, dusty in places.

The Celtic Manor - Resort Hotel
Very disappointed with the accommodation which was provided to us on checking in, we had a view on the front off the hotel over looking the golf course, which would have been fine if you could see out off the window, on first entry into the room it felt gloomy and in need off a good redecoration the window unit had broken down which resulted in it being misted up, which left you without an out look at the scenery outside which was very disappointing. Dirty napkins were given to us for our food, very bad damp smells coming from lobby toilets, the whole experience in the hotel was very disappointing. I expected a better experience from a five star hotel. Ordered room service for evening food, was very unhappy with the meal ordered a steak and fish, fish looked like it had come from a supermarket, food was very poor for the price that was paid, breakfast was much the same rock hard fried eggs cold food very poor, with this being a five star hotel very unhappy with the whole experience, would not recommend this hotel, in my opinion this hotel needs a full revamp very very disappointed.

Pre new years eve spa treat
Excellent customer service in all areas. Fantastic food at Rafters restaurant. Breakfast ok but too busy and overcrowded. Coming here as a couple for a pre New Years eve spa treat having lots of children sharing breakfast with you lost some of the romantic air! Felt the glamour of a stay at The Celtic Manor has been downgraded to a Center Parks like experience which was a bit disappointing. The lack of a good room clean and finding the door unlocked and open pre arrival was also a bad start. Stained towel and linen and old sweets behind the sofa didn't help.

Evening meal in The Grill
The soup served with warm bread and dessert were delicious but the burgers were disappointing. They were dry and overcooked, we like burgers soft and succulent. It was hard work to eat them.

Dirty hand towels in the bedroom are not acceptable in any hotel.
Charging for parking for residents when driving to the resort is the only option is just an underhand way of raising the room charge.
