Weekend in Cardiff

Excellent location for shops, bars and restaurants.

The staff were very helpful and provided complimentary drinks whilst they sorted our booking. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable although the furnishings were a little tired. On site parking is secure and good value. On the downside it lacked atmosphere, we never saw another guest!

Cardiff stopover

Very convenient for Cardiff arena - across the road.

Clean comfortable accommodation. Breakfast very disappointing. Food had been kept warm too long and plates cold.

Expensive just for convenient location

I am extremely disappointed both at Laterooms and the hotel policy that whilst attempting to book the room at 11.30pm and selecting what I already through was expensive at 154.10 for one night bed and breakfast in a twin room - the system came up with the message booking failed to complete please ring to see if money was taken.

When I rang the next morning the price had increased to £170.10 and I was told this is probably why the booking failed to complete - that the hotel was probably updating prices at the time I was trying to book. Additionally and obviously since Radisson have taken over from Jurys the previously free parking incurred an additional charge of £12 with no discount for staying there so at £182.10 for 1 night B&B is horrendous and not value for money. Quite simply I need to stay in this hotel as my mum has difficulty walking and we were seeing Riverdance in the Motorpoint Arena opposite. We had then booked in for dinner in the restaurant and whilst service was quick and friendly the meal wasn't 3 or 4* quality unless you like tough fatty lamb.

By all means check out other reviews I have left and you will find I'm not someone who whinges about every holiday or break in fact I am the opposite - I simply dislike overpriced poor value hotels. If I bring my mum to a show sadly I'll probably have to rebook here unless the Big Sleep has vacancies which as their rooms are much more competively priced with free car parking on-site means they're much better value for money.
