not worth the money, I should have paid £20 at the most....old, filthy and I actually felt unsafe with the amount of refugees hanging about who stop there.
Would never stop again.
My room once heated up by 2 heaters and having the bathroom door closed was bearable as the draft from the windows was not nice.
I also didn't get to sleep until 2 am as a door kept slamming into the wall and there was a rave somewhere outside with loud repetitive bass, it would have been nice to have been warned about this. Plus the presence of police was a bit scary.
Worst hotel I have stopped in
Whatever you do, do not book this hotel.
It is nothing like the photos on the site. Site says it has a car park but it is closed. Area is very suspect in terms of street parking. The hotel is not very clean and needs major refurbishment. In fact while I was booking in the reception area was undergoing plastering and painting. I did not feel safe in this hotel. It had a security guard from G4S on the door. There were suspicious types hanging around the entrance way. Inside the hotel there were lots of immigrants mingling around, filling in immigration forms!. The room was very small and basic, plain, badic and needed a refurb. The bathroom had no mirror in it with a bare wire protruding from the wall. The hotel carpets were singing, only one lift worked. Keep away from this hotel do not even think of booking in with your wife or family.
Sharing with refuges is not the experiences I was looking for as a paying guest
The photos on web site do not represent the hotel at all, The hotel was under refurbishment so I expected some discomfort, but not a total mess, the third room we where given was ok, No mirror in bed room so difficult for my wife to dry her hair, Lighting in first room did not work.
Toilet would not flush in seconded room, Bedding clean and room tidy but lacking in basics.
Never book this hotel!
This hotel in reality is nothing like that pictured on the LateRooms website.
It is extremely run down. When we arrived to our first room, there was a pane of glass missing from the window. To be fair, once made aware the hotel staff moved us rooms. We had booked a twin and got a double but that was the least of our worries given the state of the hotel. It is dirty, smelly and not kept well. There were men hanging around the reception and the corridors which was really odd and very intimidating. We also couldn't use the car park they had advertised as it was closed due to recent vandalism of vehicles. Please never book this hotel.
This is not a 3* Hotel!!!
We booked this hotel as a last minute deals for £50.
We would usually only stay in well known hotels such as Premier Inn but this had been advertised earlier in the week at £75 which was the same as the Travelodge which was not rated. I should have read the reviews as I never would have booked. The hotel staff were helpful but the walk to the room was just awful. The corridors were stained, filthy and smelly and there were numerous people just hanging around everywhere. To be fair the bedsheets and bathroom were quite clean (apart from the blood splattered on the bathroom wall!!!). My main issue is that it is totally misrepresented by being advertised as a decent hotel for business travel when it is clearly far from it.
Mould everywhere, dirty carpets, heater didn't work, couldn't plug anything in, TV didn't work, no hot water!!.
I have emailed hotel 3 times now. And no reply, rang and they said they would contact me, nothing!. Not very professional!!!
Room for a night out
Room served its purpose.
Some where to get ready and sleep for w night out. Budget hotel that's dated but very clean and comfy bed. Pretty good lighting too. Recommended if your not to fussy about luxury and decor.
In serious need of repair
Upon arrival we noticed various parts of the ceiling in the lobby falling away.
This looked to be due to leaks. The receptionist was somehow polite and rude simultaneously. Despite a lengthy wait on our part to be checked in, she continued to answer the phone. She then eventually instructed us that our room was on the 5th floor, which when after wandering around, (past old mattress stored in corridor,) we discovered was in fact on the 1st floor. When we found the room, we then had to flick some sort of electrical isolator switch inside a socket, just inside the door, (in the dark) in order to get some electricity. It would have been nice if this has been mentioned to us. The room was very small, the curtains were filthy and stained, the toilet roll holder fell off the wall, and the old windows never shut properly. The only positive is that the bed appeared to be clean and it was comfortable.
What a dump.
The pictures on the website are misleading to say the least.
What on earth IS this place. Parts of the building are virtually derelict, and it's full of asylum seekers. Walking from the lift to our room down endless long ghostly corridors felt like we were starring in some creepy horror movie. It seemed like a disused old hospital from 1900....piles of rubble fallen from the ceiling, filthy carpets in the corridors, has not been decorated since the year dot. We were the only women in the whole place and felt most uncomfortable. On the upside, the room itself was surprisingly good (compared with the rest of the place). At least the room itself was clean, and the bed too. However I would not stay in this hotel again even if I had the misfortune to be an asylum seeker myself. I'm surprised they didn't choose to go back home rather than stay here. Truly, truly awful.
