4Self Classified Bed and Breakfast Ratings explained
Ffordd Aber, , , Llanfairfechan, LL33 0HR
Your hosts Mair and Gerry look forward to welcoming you in person to their lovely "home from home" ~ The Grove, Llanfairfechan ~ the 2009 Calor Village of the Year for North Wales. Elegant five-star en-suite B&B accommodation in an idyllic position ~ on the North Wales Coast, at the edge of Snowdonia, near the University City of Bangor, facing the Isle of Anglesey across the Menai Straits and close to Llandudno and Conwy Valley. Nestling between 3000ft mountains and the coast The Grove enjoys a central position ~ with easy access to the North Wales Path (including a Roman Road), the Carneddau Mountains of Snowdonia, the shoreline (with several nature reserves) looking out at the mouth of the Menai Straits, Ynys Seiriol (Puffin Island) and Y Gogarth (the "Great Orme" headland in Llandudno ("The Queen of Welsh Resorts" ~ easy to get to along the very scenic coastal part of the A55). Nearby are the North Wales Cycle Route and many golf courses (around 50 within an hour), castles, stately homes and gardens, narrow gauge railways, marinas, and fishing opportunities. Built in the Edwardian Period, this detached residence retains a wealth of original character. Following major refurbishment it now also offers a high level of modern comforts. If you want "a sense of place" and to experience the best of Welsh hospitality with an abundance of activities (many of which we can help you to book) then this is the place for you. We can help you to plan your break, including transfers to and from airports, seaports, coach stations and railway stations if you want to leave the car behind. We provide a comprehensive list of restaurants and pubs where you can enjoy the best of local cuisine for your lunches and evening meals. We can help with arrangements for taxis so you needn't worry about having a drink or finding your way around. We provide comprehensive information on local activities and a well stocked library, including many items to enrich your experience of Wales

Outstanding accommodation in an ideal location with perfect proprietors
We are not usually overtly gushing in our comments on goods or services purchased, however we are bound to comment on The Grove and highly recommend a visit for a long weekend or a longer stay too.
Mair and Gerry are the perfect hosts.

5 star - extra mile B&B
We stayed with Mair and Gerry for 2 nights. Signs were already good when we received a welcome email pack. Arriving saw a cup of tea, help with directions and planning for the next day. I also cheekily asked for black pudding, and they sought some out! Honestly the best place we have stayed in, a 'bed' and 'breakfast' description doesn't cut it.

Very attentive couple
I arrived at The Grove mid afternoon on Friday to meet a close friend for the weekend, the owners were very attentive and helpful and were genuinely interested in making our weekend as pleasant as possible. The rooms were lovely, the breakfast was also a hearty meal to start the day and even their pets were welcoming! The local area was fantastic and because their establishment only has 3 rooms it meant that they could be on an almost one-to-one customer service basis which couldn't be faulted. I would heartily recommend anyone to visit the Grove and I will happily stay there again :-D BIG smiles all round.
