Trip to Knaresborough
Denise the proprietor was hugely welcoming and she went to great lengths to make us very comfortable. We especially loved the big soft bed which was wonderful.
Denise and her staff very welcoming and helpful. Homemade fruit compote yummy! Thank you.
Denise and her staff are very welcoming and helpful.
This is a lovely old building which is tastefully decorated with fresh flowers in the communal areas and the underlying perfume of beeswax polish. The toiletries provided were by Arran aromatics, a welcome change from those ubiquitous little sachets found in most B and B's
Homemade fruit compote for breakfast was yummy. Thank you.
A gem in Knaresborough
It was worth staying at Newton House just for the breakfast, which was delicious and reminded me what a good English breakfast was.
Everyone was really friendly and made my stay extremely comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.
stay here if you visit knaresborough
Great breakfast with locally sourced ingredients highly recomended .
Good location to visit the town
A breath of fresh air
A very welcoming hotel, room was beyond my expectations, and breakfast was superb.
the only downside to this hotel is possibly the parking.
We were in room 8 which was very nice lovely extras and facilities but it would have been nicer if the shower room had been heated for this time of the year.
A very comfortable stay
Everything was just fine.
We stayed in a stable room which was convenient for the car and coming and going. It was of little importance to us but the wifi signal did not appear to reach this room. The car parking was a little tight but we got a prime spot and didn't move. These points are not moans just observations. Will come again we hope.
Very comfortable 2 night stay , excellent central situation in Knaresborough and very convenient for the bus into Harrogate.
Lovely warm room to return to on a dark cold winters night. Good breakfast selection and very friendly helpful staff.
Hotel and la patronne have a gravitational pull
Excellent B&B with every possible facility (and beyond) one could imagine for this type of accommodation, especially old fashioned and now unfortunately rare idiosyncracies like an "honesty bar".
Breakfast was far better than many I've had in Michelin starred establishments.
I normally stay in homogenous, faceless 3-5 star Hotels. Newton House was a refreshing, nay, mind blowing change from the corporate, souless ubiquity of large/chain hotels, but the real Jewel in the Crown is Denise, the owner; a magnificent tour de force who runs the establishment with aplomb and a personal, knowledgable touch. How many B&B's have a concierge. More than just a bed - excellent.
We had a wonderful night's stay at Newton House.
Denise was kindly and welcoming. There is a lovely home from home feel and everything was done to make us comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the dining room laid out beautifully. It was super to have a drawing room to relax in. So many thoughtful extras- fresh milk in the fridge in our bedroom for example. Thank you Newton House!
