Restaurant closes at 7pm?!
Booked this hotel for a couple of nights as my partner and I are travelling the east coast, and when I realised an error in the booking only the day before arriving I contacted the hotel to clear up the mistake, only to have an angry woman answer the phone and inform me that the hotel restaurant only serves food till 7pm.
I have never heard of a hotel restaurant closing at 7pm so for my partner and me too arrive at 6:30pm we had no choice but to find dinner elsewhere, the room was a joke for a standard double, hardly any space and the bed was 2 singles put together which we did notice, no WiFi at all even though its stated, TV remote barely worked, no hairdryer to speak of and curtains practically breaking off the cord so they didn't shut completely. I was almost brought to tears when I saw the room size and couldn't believe this was the same room I booked from the website its worse than a 2-star hotel I stayed at in Cardiff plus barely any lights on the pathway to the room so had to use my phone to see where we were going.
Golfers night out
Room had all we needed and was clean and tidy
Bar was welcoming and no crazy prices - stayed open with just 2 of us left
Food was exactly what we were looking for both in the evening and the quick service in the morning let us get away to play golf
Looking to stay here when back in the area next summer
Driving up the drive it was a bit dark - needing more lights.
We were welcomed into the hotel and directed to our room which which was within a separate building. It was a room with a balcony overlooking the golf course. Shower was one of the best I have encountered within a hotel. Breakfast was good with the normal selection of hot and cold food.
Room was a bit basic pillows need improved very cheep, tv was way too small for size of room, tiles in bathroom needed refurbished
Great for golfers
Comfortable accommodation in a quiet location but very handy for St Andrews.
Lovely views over Drumoig course. Good driving range available. Only downside is the blinds don't keep out much light - so you could wake up early.
The reception and staff in the restaurant were all pleasant and helpful.
The room was spacious and very clean and the breakfast was perfectly adequate and of good quality although on the second morning due to shortage of staff the self-service trays were not being replenished fast enough for demand. Overall though ity was a nice experience at Drumoig.
staff very friendly and helpful.
Hotel clean, good value and lovely location
Warm welcome after long journey
After a very long drive in atrocious weather conditions, it was such a relief to find our accomodation and start to relax immediately.
The welcome was warm and friendly, the view from our window over the golf course was wonderful, the room was a good size with a kettle for making hot drinks. The ensuite was also fine. The only slight thing to mar it was that we were unable to get WiFi in our room. (It was only available from main reception area )
room with a view
Value for money, great views, beautiful golf course, terrific staff No bar after.
9pm was only drawback.
Hotel set up primarily for golfers.
Room in separate building but clean and comfortable. Short walk to main club house for breakfast. Hotel aprox 15 mins from St Andrews and very quiet location.
