100% would recommend it to a friend
A wonderful few days away.
Can't fault the staff, very friendly.
Food and Drink
We loved the hotel, the quirkiness of it all and the friendly and helpful staff.
If there has to be a negative it was the wine list, lack of real ale (husbands comment) and the tiny portions of food - although the quality of the food was amazing. The wine list seemed devised to make sure you spend as much as possible - there were very few mid-priced wines, plenty of cheaper and very expensive but not a variety for the occasion we were there for. We bought 3 half bottles during the meal and a couple of drinks at the bar and our bar bill came to nearly £80. The wine for that price was not of a very high standard. More coffee in the room would have been better - there was only 1 decaff for example so one of us had to go without.
Great country break
We had a fantastic night here.
There was a slight issue with the room which Dale resolved by going above and beyond. Would definitely recommend for a country escape.
WOW WOW WOW
The hotel is absolutely fantastic, a real find.
The room was spacious, very clean, warm and well furnished. Good attention to detail and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only thing that could have been improved was more padding on the children's Z bed. Apart from that, everything was absolutely perfect and we would definitely return again.
Booked very last minute.
We were advised straight away that there were some functions on and there would be some noise and no dining facilities and given the opportunity to cancel. Decided to carry on and on arrival were upgraded to a treehouse rom in the grounds as far from the noise as possible. Very impressed with the room and the level of service we received from Kate in Reception.
Beautiful Country Hotel
Beautiful hotel in very lovely surroundings.
Everything about it was tranquil, even with two young boys. Staff were helpful and friendly and our three day-stay was excellent.
Discovery of Deer Park Hotel
The hotel was a stab in the dark after searching for a room that night but what a discovery.
For a very reasonable "late booking" rate, we had a really lovely time. The staff were terrific, the meal was wonderful, the upgraded room was superb. We are already recommending the Deer Park to friends. And what a place for a wedding. Prospective brides within reach of Honiton should go see this place.
Just came back from a three day break at the Deer Park.
We were both impressed and pleased that for a country house hotel the atmosphere was totally unstuffy, the staff were all friendly and efficient, we stayed in one of the garden rooms which was clean and tastefully decorated. The view from the breakfast room was stunning and the breakfast menu was good . We will definately be back for future stays and to see some deer which Mark assured me were there.!!
Fabulous hotel with real charm in a lovely location.
The room was spacious and clean with a lovely bathroom. Quiet and peaceful surroundings, absolute heaven. Staff were friendly and the garden/grounds were fabulous. Would certainly stay here again without hesitation.
It was ok
The room was in an annexe away from the main building which was fine as the weather was good, if it had been raining we would have got soaked.
The room was large and tidy but the decor was poor. There were bits of plaster blown on the wall and ceiling. The units looked like they could benefit from a coat of paint. If this was an attempt at shabby chic, it didn't work. The bed was comfortable. There was no information in the room, we found some in a cupboard downstairs. For the price paid it was ok.
