100% would recommend it to a friend
The Grand old Duke.
My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting friends for the weekend.
We arrived into a very cosy and characterful Inn with open fire burning - the perfect welcome after 6 hours of travelling. Our room was in a separate building next door to the inn. The accommodation was clean. We were given a disabled friendly room which provided more spacious accommodation and larger en-suite than some of the other rooms and since my daughter's clothes took up most of the room, this additional space was welcome.
The breakfast was excellent (although only us Scots understand that a breakfast isn't complete without Tattie Scone!). We were lucky to be staying on Friday night which was live folk music night which, as musicians we enjoyed very much. So to sum up, a very relaxing and enjoyable stay!
Great place to stay for Oxford and thereabouts.
A good sized room, comfortable.
Shower in bath not the best.
Duke of Marlborough Hotel
All the staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay and made us feel very welcome.
The room was spacious, clean and nice decor. The food was delicious, freshly cooked and homemade. We will definitely recommend this accommodation to our friends and would stay here again.
Very comfortable lodging
I was initially doubtful when I saw the photos of the rooms as they looked dark and the windows were small.
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the room. It was spacious and not dingy at all. Very comfortable indeed.
I stay away quite a lot with work and this was by far my favourite place to stay, so very welcoming, room was great, food was great, no faults at all!!!
En route break
I didnt know much about the area and nothing of the hotel, we were en route to west sussex but we found the place clean, stylish and well stocked.
The hosts were excellent and we even had a chat about Sir Winston Churchill and the nearby Blenheim palace, His birthplace. Rooms were spacious, Wifi was free and the meals were plentiful.
