PONTAGOGHI NANTGAREDIG, CARMARTHEN, SA32 7NH
The Salutation Inn is centrally located for most attractions and major townsand can be found aproximately 6 miles from Carmarthen.

When you have walked or climbed the Brecon Beacons, shopped at Swansea or Carmarthen, visited Dylan Thomas's Boathouse and explored the two major Gardens and squeezed in a trip to the seaside, relax and chill out before you start all over again the next day.

The National Botanic Garden of Wales is just four miles from our property. With its award winning largest single span Great Glasshouse designed by Lord Foster.

Aberglasney Mansions Historic Gardens at Llangathen is just six miles away.

The Salutation Inn serves superb food and drink in an informal and relaxing setting. Food is served throughout the pub and all our food from the eggs to fish is locally sourced and we offer a great range of food from homemade dishes dishes such as Lasagne, and Steak and Guinness pie to steaks & fish dishes, also catering for vegetarians.

We are a 17th century coaching inn, with restaurant originally being a cow / pig shed and the bar still has original rings to cure hams. Because of our location we are popular with walkers & fishermen.

A truly traditional style country pub situated on the A40 between Carmarthen and Llandeilo offering brand new up to date 3 star Visit Wales accreditied modern accommodation.

Great South Wales base
This was a great self catering base flat for us to use as we explored the South of Wales over the long Easter weekend.
The landlady was friendly and helpful when we arrived.
The flat was comfortable and had everything you would need (and expect from that cheap price).
Unlike another reviewer, we had no trouble with heating and were quite warm.
There were a few downsides, which did not impact us greatly, such as not being able to generate hot water from the kitchen tap to undertake the washing up, and an inability for our electronic devices to connect to the free offered wifi (although with it being a BT Hub, i wasn't that surprised!). Also, the flat is above a pub, so if you're an early light sleeper, you won't be getting your Zzz's till after 11pm. (We were lucky that it was the Easter weekend, so this was only a problem on the Friday).
If you are looking to cook you're own food, be aware that this isn't the city and there are no Tesco Locals on every street, so you will have to travel to Carmarthen (6 miles away) to get you groceries.
All in all though, this is great value for money and ideal for anyone wishing to explore the South of Wales, which I highly recommend (amazing coastlines, castles galore and beautiful countryside).

nice apartment could do with some thought on presentation and customer service
Was adequate enough, well located for our purpose. They didnt provide us with heating, when called to ask where switch was they just blamed someone for not putting it on and did nothing to rectify, so wasnt very comfortable to relax after long journey. Cleaner had decided to leave her cleaning stuff on top of toilet and not even toilet role was provided!!! 2 star rating at best.

Salutation Inn May 2013
Neat accomodation, we definately preferred this to our usual Eisteddfod accomodation (Travelodge etc) as there was a separate bedroom and kitchen and dining facilities. Even though it was above a pub we heard very little noise and the children slept well. We only stayed for 2 nights and I don't think we would stay there for a week as it was quite compact for a family of four for that length of time. It was definately value for money for a few nights compared to hotels/B+Bs. Food was available downstairs and at the two pubs down the road. My only complaint was that the pub wasn't open on the day that we arrived (Sunday) so the heating was not on.
