Wasn't a nice experience and the hosts were rude so changed and booked a different hotel
Hotel was above a night club very noisy and uncomfortable and unwelcoming seems more like a night club entrance .
Value for your Wonga
We'd read some scathing reviews on various review sites and was very wary about booking at the Cocoon, We're glad we overcame those doubts and were very pleasantly surprised with our accommodation, we had a clean and tidy room with the basics that you'd expect, the staff were pleasant.
All in all for the price we paid you cant expect better. We would definitely book here again if we were returning to Liverpool.
My review of cocoon
I started staying in cocoon 6 years ago and loved the underground theme, people visiting, staff and hotel is great just a problem with noise there is a pub above that doesn't shut till about 3am on on Friday or a Saturday it was quite annoying I felt clostraphobic no windows and noise in corridors from young groups of lads after a drink at 2am still shouting, there is no air con but was a small fan it's a simple clean room and has a kettle for tea/coffe, hair dryer, safe soaps but I don't think il be staying again after that night of noise I had to get a member of staff to knock on a door opposite due to noise
Cocoon @ International Inn
Great location and very good value for money!
Truly dreadful hotel
I will never, ever stay in this hotel again.
The accommodation was an underground windowless room next door to a nightclub. There was the bass notes from very loud music clearly audible in the room until 4am both nights I was there making sleep virtually impossible. The breakfast facilities were shared with the adjoining hostel accommodation and so basic that we did not bother using them.
Not bad for less than £50 a night in the centre of the Liverpool!
The hotel at first glance can put off bad vibes, but once inside the staff are very polite and helpful.
When you enter your room, you will be pleasantly surprised at what you get for your money, also being a short walk to what I can say is the best night life I have ever experienced, and a bit further for all the shops you could ever want. What did let me down was the lack of room cleanliness, as through out our 3 night stay the room was not refreshed with new towels or bed linen. Besides that I can't fault it, if you want a cheap and cheerful weekend away close to the centre of Liverpool then the cocoon is the place to stay.
Really nice hotel, clean rooms, homely feel, friendly reception staff.
I would defiantly stay here again .
Very good, very good value for money
The staff are very welcoming!.
The location is great and the rooms are perfect.
Adequate accomadation for a 2 night stay
The room was adequate for a 2 night stay, very clean and tidy.
A few negatives were the damaged table and bathroom door where a previous guest kicked or punched the door. The room became very warm at times even without the small heater being switched on and with the lack of a window to open, smelled of damp at times as well with being in the basement. Overall we would come back for a short stay
