4Self Classified Serviced Apartments Ratings explained
Excelsior Princess Way, Swansea, SA1 3LW
The Excelsior apartments are all within a three mile radius of the major business centres, and are the ideal springboard for all the surrounding tourist attractions. Poised at the top of the Gower peninsula, the whole of the stunning South Wales coast is easily accessible from this location.

Set right in the heart of the city, Excelsior apartments are within easy walking distance of fine restaurants, the Quadrant shopping centre, the main bus station and Swansea Railway Station. The new Aspers casino and state-of-the art LC2 Leisure Centre are directly opposite the development.

Whether engaging in a hard days' business, or sampling the many tourist attractions of the area, you'll be glad of the real home-from-home atmosphere you'll find in these 3rd to 7th floor apartments. A comfortable sofa, digital TV, and fully equipped kitchen provide for real relaxation at the end of the day, while separate living and sleeping arrangements provide extra flexibility over the single hotel room.

The city of Swansea hosts the £32m National Waterfront Museum, along with castles, art galleries and the Swansea and Mumbles Railway, the world's first railway service. With Swansea fast becoming one of the most progressive cities in Wales, exciting opportunities exist for both the business and leisure visitor.

Swansea's transport links are excellent, with the M4 motorway skirting the top of the city and Cardiff International Airport just 1 hour away by car. The Intercity 125 railway service runs from London Paddington to Swansea, and on to the ferry port of Fishguard.

Great base.
We used this studio apartment while competing in a sportive, great location for restaurants, and bars also plenty of supermarkets within walking distance.
It was a warm weekend so we had the windows open. ..The seagulls and church bell woke me a couple of times and my mates snoring!!!.......All in all a great little pad.

A nice change from a hotel
The apartment was very nice and had an excellent kitchen. I didn't do any cooking in the end because there was no dishwasher in the apartment, and I couldn't find any washing up sponges.
My main reason for booking was that from the pictures, it looked like there would be a balcony. This was not the case unfortunately, but this was my own fault as it was not specified on the apartment specs.
One thing to bear in mind is that you only get one toilet roll, and in my case it wasn't even a full one. There is a Tesco around the corner however, so I managed to get enough supplies to last me, although I would expect there to be adequate supply of the essentials with the apartments.
The shower wasn't very good, and as soon as I started showering, the shower head would slide down the pole meaning that you had to hold it up with one hand. This made showering a bit of a chore.
The sheets on the bed seemed to be clean, but there were stains on them which is never pleasant.
The view from the room was very uninspiring, looking over what I assume to be the loading dock for Iceland - definitely not a room with a view.
The furniture was all of a very high standard, with a couple of tables, a desk, plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. The bed was very low however (a couple of feet off the floor) which was odd, and the mattress was way too soft for my personal taste.
The blind on the window didn't really work very well and if you lowered it too much it started falling apart. This really needs replacing.
The apartment was fairly quite, although the fridge does make a lot of noise in the night. I didn't really hear much noise from outside of the building except for when the Iceland deliveries started in the morning. Overall, pretty happy with noise levels.
In terms of location, the apartment was great. It's only a short walk to some great bars and restaurants (my favourite being the Smoke Haus).
It was a nice change staying here, but with the niggles, it just didn't gel that well with me. I would certainly try a serviced apartment again, but not the same room.
