About the hotel
The Glangrwyney Court is a privately owned Grade ll listed Georgian Country House offering luxury 5 star accommodation on the edge of the beautiful Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains. 33 Acres of parkland and 4 acres of gardens gives the ideal base for a relaxing country retreat. Glangrwyney Court dates back to approximately 1800 with typical Palladian architecture.
The cantilevered staircase is of special interest and the view from the curved window over the gardens and Black Mountains beyond is inspiring. Guests can relax in the cosy sitting room in front of the roaring log fire during winter months. The lounge, along with every room in the house, is tastefully decorated and furnished with period pieces while the honesty bar is to be found in the library, where there is a wide selection of books available and it is possible to take a few quiet moments away from it all. The accommodation comprises eight bedrooms in the Main House and one further ground floor bedroom in the Garden Courtyard, all of which have been sympathetically refurbished to provide exclusive guest rooms with all possible comforts. This becomes evident the moment you arrive and step into the homely and welcoming atmosphere. All rooms are fully equipped with TV & DVD Players, Hairdryers, Clock Radios, Premium Toiletries, Fluffy Bath Towels, Robes and Tea/Coffee facilities. Glangrwyney Court offers guests a well prepared, traditional Breakfast to start the day. With tea and fresh coffee, it is the ideal way to prepare for an adventure filled day exploring the beauty of the surrounding regions. The house does not have a restaurant, but staff will be happy to advise you on one of the highly recommended restaurants to be found nearby in Crickhowell. The tree lined drive forming the approach to the house reveals the first glimpse of the magnificent listed gardens, including ancient Magnolia’s and Acers along with an abundance of shrubs and plants. Each season offers interest and enjoyment to the gardening enthusiast. On a summers evening relax on the patio with a glass of wine or in winter wrap up and walk the gardens before settling down in front of the log fire. Croquet, Boules and an all weather Tennis Court is available on site while Fishing, Shooting and Pony Trekking can easily be arranged locally, giving you a wide choice of pursuits to enjoy in the area. There is an enormous choice for walkers in the immediate area, where the Brecon Beacons National Park and Black Mountains offer tremendous hill-walking possibilities and the Brecon/Pontypool canal provides gentle walking along the towpath. The area affords visitors with peace and serenity, nestled amidst the awe inspiring and relaxing surroundings, however the major cities of Cardiff and Bristol are within an hour's drive, giving a sense of convenience to the location.

The accommodation was in a beautiful setting with attractive gardens and very peaceful.
The room was small but cosy and the bed was really comfortable.
Our room was tiny ..
You could barely swing a cat, the decor was very twee - lots of frills, net curtains, chintzy cushions and China teacups. The bathroom was dated and there was no water pressure and no hot water ... The shower (which was the type that just fixed to the bath taps) just trickled out so it took over an hour just to fill the bath to about a quarter full... It was hardly worth the effort, we told them this at breakfast and they seem to flick a switch (pump maybe?) and when we got back to our room it was working fine, it was too late for us as we had to leave, the staff were understanding and I'm pretty sure they've refunded the cost of our stay. The breakfast was nice with lots of choice
