Situated on a noisy street
The hotel itself was fine, if not slightly old fashioned and in need of updating.
The bar was cheap and the food was good. Only problem was the noisy street outside but the staff were very helpful in moving us to a quieter room. The hot water pipe ran through our bedroom heating the place up so we had to open the windows. They weren't double glazed so you could hear everything outside whether they were open or not. Nice decent sized room and big bathroom which was good.
Castle Hotel - experience
Please do not book. The hotel reception put me on the top floor with no heating.
It was so cold, I wore my outdoor clothes whilst in bed. The WiFi did not work. The hotel itself needs to be brought into this century, the decor was old and shabby. No car park so I had to pay to park on the multi storey then walk in the dark
I would not stay there again even if it was free.
