About the hotel

Ah. . .

BEST WESTERN Valley Hotel. A stunning retreat located in the breathtakingly beautiful World Heritage site of Ironbridge, just four miles from Telford. Words may not do the AA 3 star Georgian House justice, but when we tell you that the hotel overlooks the River Severn, is bordered by beautiful parkland, has 44 individual ensuite bedrooms, and full conference and banqueting facilities and lies within easy reach of museums and attractions that showcase this world famous area and its industrial heritage, the scene should be well and truly set! The 2 AA rosette awarded Chez Maw Restaurant offers a full á la carte menu with a selection of modern European cuisine, and offers views of the stunning valley (as does the adjoining bar area) to provide a unique and relaxing experience for all guests. Excellent service, award wining food in a fantastic location, make this hotel almost indescribable!

First Time, Will Come Back!

Very helpful and friendly staff.

Carried bags up to attic room. Well appointed, lovely room but a lot of stairs. Restaurant very good standard to be commended in every way. Interior décor, a little uninspiring. Lovely parkland adjoining along riverbank. Will defiantly stay again. Thank you.

Most enjoyable experience

Without satnav I would have had problems finding this hotel, which would have been a pity.

I was immediately made to feel welcome, the receptionist was extremely helpful, the lounge/lobby was a welcome look back to how things used to be. The room was a single as requested, comfortable and well equipped. I would comment that the shower was rather small....but I am on the large side and on a diet.

The dinner was excellent, with the roast tomato and basil soup hot, peppery and delicious. The main course was a very above-average haddock, Snow White fish, light crispy batter, the chips were large, fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside, the peas were delicious and the size of the portion meant I could not manage a dessert. The bed was comfortable......all in all a most pleasant stay. For those with children, a 2-minute walk took you to the factory, shop and home of Merrythought Teddy Bears, and it was my bad luck that I was unable to visit this part of my childhood - and I am a 61 year old male. I happily recommend this hotel, and wish my stay had been longer.
